Do you mean the one where all the relatives come over?

I cook a full dinner every night, but my husband and I both lack relatives, so it’s just us and our kids. I would LOVE to have a big family that I could cook Sunday dinner for (or at least participate).

For us it is very seldom to have a real dinner together on Sunday. Sure we cook, but nothing special. Come to think about it the last time we had a real family dinner together was like 8 years ago. Oh by the way we hardly ever eat out or order in.

Lot of it has to do to a blame game. I am suppose to be dead due to a freak accident, really no one’s fault, still they blame each other and feeling of guilty about it. So my family abandoned family time together and I was treated as fragile and they really didn’t know how to treat me. Sure they all loved me but the guilt of what if they did something different that day. Trust me the accident was bad.

  • Many people continue to embrace the tradition of Sunday dinner. It's a cherished time for families to gather, share a meal, and connect. Personally, I love the comforting rituals associated with Sunday dinners, especially the delightful aromas of a slow-cooked Italian ragu or a perfectly roasted chicken. It's an opportunity to explore flavors and create lasting memories with loved ones. 🍽️❤️

I cook at least 5x a week, but Sunday dinner is always my most elaborate. It's just a great way to end the week, have some family meal time, and get ready for the new week starting off on a good foot. Plus, I make enough for Monday night as well, so less cooking for me.

    Do you now?

OK I'll be right over lol

Yes yes I do. I love cooking, and growing up we would go over to my dad's aunt and uncle (who were like my grandparents cause mine were overseas) and we'd have brunch and dinner together with them

Since our kids are now out-of-the-nest and in different states, by Sunday night we are tired from chores and usually just heat up some leftovers.

This is not to say that I am against the concept of cooking a nice dinner. I would have done that a few days earlier, so we would HAVE those leftovers ready to eat by Sunday. :- ). see how that works? ;- )

Either my wife or I (usually me) cook Sunday dinner every week unless we're traveling or having dinner elsewhere. I'm not Italian but I love cooking and eating Italian food, so I often make the traditional Italian American Sunday dinner (aka Sunday sauce). Today I'm making a new one (to me) Pasta alla Genovese.

I'll cook Sunday dinner once a month, usually I'll roast a chicken and make soup/stew with the rest of carcase and freeze in meal sized portions.

My kids have all moved out so we do not do it all the time. Sometime we get takeout or go to a restaurant.

We try to get after that in my house. It's a good way to keep everyone in touch. Talk about the problems of the day/week.
