Do you eat steak American Style of International Style?

There are apparently at least two ways to eat steak, described below:

American style - fork in left hand, knife in right, cut a bite size piece of meat, put the knife down, swap the fork to your right hand, pick up a piece of meat and put it in your mouth; the swap-hands method

International Style - fork in left hand, knife in right, cut a bite size piece of meat, which you pick up with the left hand fork and put it in your mouth; the same-hands method

Something else - individuals can describe how they do it

I usually go International Style 🍽️

Fork in my left, knife in my right, cut a bite, and straight to my mouth with the left hand. It feels natural and efficient, especially when the steak is perfectly medium-rare and juicy.

When I was in Florence eating a huge bistecca alla fiorentina, everyone at the table ate this way. It matched the rustic, no-nonsense vibe of the meal 🇮🇹🥩

“International style” is closest to how i eat steak, but your wording makes it seem as though “picking up a piece of steak” is somehow separate from cutting it off of the whole.
I stab the part of the steak that i’m going to eat with my fork (in my left hand) and cut it off with the knife (in my right hand), then raise the bite to my mouth with the fork (still in my left hand).
The switching hands method just seems unnecessarily awkward and the main reason that i don’t fork with my right and cut with my left is that, much like throwing a baseball with my left hand, i just can’t get the form down without mishaps. I’ve actually slid a steak completely off my plate trying to cut with my left. 😂😂😂 That was the end of my attempts to switch my cutlery.
Furthermore, the only reason i was trying to switch is that i drink with my left hand. Putting down my fork to grab my drink seems unnecessarily awkward, just like switching hands for the bite step. So steak is one of the few meals during which i drink with my right hand. Cuz i’m just too dumb to learn how to cut a steak with my left.
Fun fact, i ate a t-bone entirely without cutlery once. Just picked it up and ate it like an ape. Ell oh ell! It was fun, but messy. I never did that again.

I thought Americans always cut their entire meal into pieces at the start and then just used the fork. I'm off to eat a Dexter steak soon, I'll see if I can spot any Americans by the way they eat.

@aviatortom You forgot to add that the ' classless'  Europeans eat hillbilly style, and turn the fork upside down like an upside-down shovel and stick in in their food trap. The most HILLBILLY thing in the world. Must be Ma and Pa Kettle eating style.

I’ve always used the American Style to eat when I’m cutting meat, but the International Style seems much more efficient. I might try that sometime.

I don't eat steak at all. My dad loved it! He sliced off a piece once to let me try it. I chewed on it for a good long time and couldn't break it down enough to swallow it so, I gave it to the dog.
I don't understand what the point of eating something is if you can't do anything but chew it and then spit it out after the flavour is gone. I might as well chew bubble gum.
The closest I ever get to steak is hamburger and Steak-Ums.

This is not just about eating steak, it’s almost all food. Americans do it that way (or they just a fork). Many other countries do it the ”international” way and they do it for almost all food (not soup and stuff obviously).

I eat steak like a Real American. A knife is for wussy dilettantes. I grab it with one hand and rip off a chunk of flesh with my teeth. Then I toss the steak back on my plate and take a swig of Bourbon before I have a bite of my baked potato.

I usually cut a good sized piece off the steak and cut that up into bite size pieces. Then put rhe knife down and eat it with a fork
