Why do most girls act and look older than their age?

I see this all the time. Most girls I see that are for example 18 act and look like they are 23. And girls that are younger than 18 also act older. I guess this behaviour is something these girls keep for all of their life. Anyways this is a big problem for me as girls my age are simply too mature for me and Im not exactly childish. This is very difficult for me as I feel that Im not manly enough for most girls my age and I usually have to look for girls younger than me and they are sometimes not mature enough so its very difficult. And they also dress and style themselves that makes them look older than their actual age (tanning etc. does this to) so I'm honestly not attracted to them either on a physical level as well Im attracted to girls that look my age or maybe a tiny bit younger. My question is not why girls are doing this because I guess they can do it if they want Im just wondering why they want to do it. :)

You know when children want to be like adults? I think it is the same. Also, many of them wear lots of make up and try to look like a model or a celebrity who is maybe older than them.

Sometimes, I feel sad for them because they are not living their age. Every stage in our life is important in shaping our character. I think when they actually get older, they would regret it and wish they've lived a certain stage just like people their age.

Thankfully, I don't seem older than my age. 😥

Most people say I look younger in person so I can't say anything about it but I've always been mature, even when I was a little kid. Apparently I used to brush the edges of carpets when I was crawling, and when I was younger than age 4 I told my mother "Your husband will be home, go put yourself together". I don't know why I was that way when I was younger but I remember that at one point I started seeing the examples of my older sister, and figured out what was good for me and what's not. I've always acted accordingly. I'm still goofy, but I know when to put a stop to it.

I think he's referring to girls who by appearance try to look older by altering their looks, not by mentality...

I won't speak for every girls reason... but i think it`s partially for two main reasons... attraction to older guys and we do tend to feel more mature internally than our age, especially during teen years... so most try to speed up the process in appearance... (((mimicking the media "look".. singers/actressess/etc. ))))

Because most of them wear make up too much. i think this is stupid maybe they think lots of make up make them more beautiful but in reality they just seem older than their actual age because of it.

It's subjective and individual. How is is 18 year old supposed to act? Be drunk every friday?
And its DNA, some people look naturally older or younger.
Also media promotes young girls very sexual and mature image so ofcourse they want to look older. The problwm is that you have no confidence to approach "women" so you go for young immature girls

No I'm 18 so I'm not interested in girls that tan to look 28 and smoke and drink and do drugs.

Yeah but at the same time it's quite weird how I couldnt tell the difference between a 28 and 18 year old. I mean after 25 girls generaly stop trying to look older.

Like a 17 year old but more mature? It's like many of these girls pull a switch some time around their late teens.

Like a 16 year old but more mature? You seem to be avoiding the question I was asking. My question was why girls in their late teens suddenly makes an extreme change in their maturity level not why they get more mature and mature for every year.

And no, that wasn't your first question.

Now tell me, how does one act like a 15 year old? How does one act 16 or 17 or 18? What makes a person 15, 16, 17 or 18 other than the number? How should they act? What should they do?

Not like a 28 year old that is the point I'm trying to make. Your maturity increases as you get more experienced which usually comes with age so it is very unnatural that it would be impossible to tell the difference between an 18 and 28 year old.

Or thats just opinion. A young person could have experienced a lot more than some 28 year olds.
And its also about how parents raise you and what they tesch you. What your personality is like... etc. Its not just that you live longer.

You avoided my question again so I'll assume you don't know yourself.
How does one act like a 28 year old? I bet you can't answer that either. Why? Because there is NOT one specific way how person at some age should act. And your opinion is not reality.

i don't know what you mean with looking older? most girls look older in general :) i'm 16 and some people tell me i look like 20 though i don't wear much make up and dress normally most girls look really mature for their age

I'm 14 but I look way older, because of my eyeliner and lipstick and what I wear, because it's the norm now a days for girls to do this
