Example:
How she really looks:
What kind of witchcraft is this.
I honestly don't think this looks very different, but I think the misconception has a lot to do with how her face is positioned in the photos. There's a good chance that she took a lot of selfies and then chose the 'best' one before posting it, so there was a sort of process that isn't there in a group photograph. She didn't get to take 100 pictures and then post the best one, there was a whole group of people that also wanted to look good in the picture.
Another thing that could be fooling you is the distance between the camera and the subject. When a lens is closer, there is a sort of magnification that happens that is more noticeable as you get closer. Things that are closer to the camera (like her forehead in the selfie) are magnified a small amount, while things that are further from the camera (like her chin) appear smaller.
Filters, Make-Up, the angle you use to take a selfie. All of that plays a roll in making us look like "selfie models". 10 years ago it was a little difficult to take a picture from the back by yourself because they would come out crooked or funny looking, but now the front camera has made it convenient for us to snap pictures of ourselves all day long. Hence, the selfie. I'm not trying to go all history class on you but that's how the cookie crumbles lol
Because when people take selfies, they have more control over how well the camera snaps their best angle. Have someone else take their photo and poof... magic is gone.
They change the lighting, or edit the photo, with filters etc.
Uh, can't hardly see her at all in second set of pics.

You can barely see her full face. But she doesn't look that different to me. To answer the question tho, you have more control over your selfie. You know what angle is good and how to get good lighting. What you don't realize is how much effort goes into getting one selfie lol.
She looks pretty much exactly the same in both pics
And anyway, another photo is not exactly a good example of "what she actually looks like". People can still look great in real life but photograph terribly in candids/group pics.
I look so different in pictures verses in real life. I've been told that I do not picture well, so yeah, I've never taken a selfie-lol. I think with selfies you can take it from the angle that shows only the good and hides any flaws.
Why is it witchcraft? It's just different lighting and her face is hidden by a hat. You look different in different photos too, right?
She looks the same... You just can't see her features properly in the second one
Because they can edit it however they want! This is why you can never really tell of someone is pretty by photos.
these days you can edit pictures they way you want them to look.
she looks the same to me lol
She has a longer face in the bottom picture, its like she camouflaged it
And obviously not bc when i asked my friend this question they were like "Which one is she in the group pick?" which is why i had to make an arrow bc they look so diff
She does look the same...
Editing and lighting.
She actually doesn't look that different lol.
camera trickery! ;p
Makeup lol
They seem to be wearing the same amount of makeup in both pictures, yet still look so different
It just seems like that. Makeup can do magic.
How can makeup make your face seem shorter? rofl
Look up dope211 on youtube. Her tutorials say it all.
