from what I have learnt in my life, I know that now I am pretty, I feel really I guess stuck up for saying it, my whole child hood I was overweight now that I have lost the weight I found that I can get what I want easier, people listen to me more etc

It's hard to say. Overall, I would say that yes, they do have it easier. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that being pretty is beneficial.

She's pretty. She can basically get whatever she wants with her looks alone. Speeding ticket? Flirt your way out of it. Want a guy to sleep with? Hit the club and enjoy your free drinks. Getting a job or a promotion? Put on a little makeup, pop your top button, and you're on the fast track to success.

But along with that comes a reputation. A girl who is pretty also tends to have a harder time being recognized for being anything else. Sure she may be a math genius with a doctorate from MIT, but a reputation of "Looks like she slept her way through college" is more than likely to follow. She may be a company executive, but as far as everyone else is concerned (possibly including her fellow executives), she's there because she has nice t*ts. Even upon getting married, many people will have decided that she's nothing more than a trophy wife.

The "pretty girl" stereotype is just like any other stereotype. Most people don't look at them and observe if they fit the stereotype. Most look at them and assume that they do, and all we see in their actions is whatever agrees with that view. Look at the stereotype of men. How many women assume that a man is just out for sex without even getting to know him? They don't look to see if he's a great guy who wants something more. They try to see any mention of sexuality related to him, and then slap him as having proven himself to be a walking sex organ. With a pretty girl, people assume that all she does is get anywhere with her looks, and if she tries to maintain those looks, people see her as having proven that idea.

In short, pretty girls might have it easier, but that doesn't mean they have it better.

I would disagree. They may have different benefits, but they also have different obstacles. Many people will look at someone 'beautiful' and especially if their own insecurities start kicking in, they form an opinion of them before even getting to know them. Anything from oh they must be a slut, or they're probably an airhead. Not to mention they have to deal with people going after them and using them for their looks then casting them aside. We all have our obstacles in life we must face, and we all have the things we possess that make it easier for us to overcome some of those obstacles.

I'm not sure if I agree or disagree with the askers statement yet, but just to point out the other side, for every person who judges/dislikes someone because they're jealous of their looks, there will be another who leeches onto them for the sake of being associated with them. It could go either way I suppose

Yes, but they want no substance to the relationship in many of those cases. They want a trophy hanging around their arm basically. I wouldn't want people using me for such purposes either. So getting prejudged and being used as a trophy of social status are both quite negative.

Agree, everything in this world is based upon how you look. And too the girls who scored the awesome genitics well they have it super easy, these are the girls that will never have to worry about ending up alone or anything because they could date any guy they wanted. WHile the rest of us who I mean we aren't ugly but because we are nothing in comparison to the pretty girls, we get nothing, mabye our personalitys are better, mabye we are nicer people and mabye we are more fun to be around, but at the end of the day looks matter more than anythign and the pretty girls win over all. ALWAYS. I wish it wasn't like that, really I mean I don't think anyone in this world is actually ugly as far as appereance goes, only personalitys are ugly. And I personaly think that appereance means nothing, I do NOT judge based on it, and I don't care how guys look because for me personality is most important. But sadly the rest of the world has yet to catch onto this so I'm bascially screwed, oh well.

I agree with your ideas on no one actually being ugly and with the not judging anyone on their appereance, but I know several extreemly pretty girls and the thing is guys look or want something physical with them and that's all. I may not know you or what you look like but I can assure you that you are not screwed in any shape your form.

First of all, pretty girls just get a lot of stares. We go through the same sh*t. I have my professrs and guys stare at me ant it gets awkward since some of these are professors. The guys that come to me usually just aren't ready for REAL relationships anyway. They are just attracted and want to be close. Even if they aren't bad guys, they are hella confused just like every other guy. Really, the quality is the same, ifnot worse at times. The quantity just increases.

It's easier to be visually appealing to someone than it is to be emotionally and socially appealing to someone, that is why I think pretty girls have it the easiest, they get easy dates just standing still.

I disagree. Beauty or prettiness is not the only thing that differs a girl from other girls. There are many more things. Just because a girl is pretty, it does not mean she can attract any guy she wants and have them be happy with her. I know a pretty girl with a HORRIBLE attitude. No guy ever talk to her (even though she is pretty). Not all girl who are pretty have it easy.

It's good you've lost weight, just don't start relying on your looks. Easy to do for a young girl. Take you own advice and don't start that habit.
