Monkey Branching = When a girl already has a boyfriend but she gives her number to guys that she meets and flirts as if she were single. She's basically branching off from her boyfriend and establishing backups.

Yes and no.
I think there is a feeling in which girls (and guys) think that "these are our early years" and use it as an excuse to make mistakes and keep their options open because why should they be so serious at this point in their life?
And in this day and age, with everyone cheating on everyone, it seems a back up plan is something everyone has.
I would say many men and women do this, it use to be called the Brad Pitt "I Love her until I don't anymore". They are not really committed and making sure others no their still open to other options. Keeping my options open...
I think it's getting more common but that's also understandable. I think it's strange to 100% commit to one relationship. Someone should be able to still have connections with others. And if it is really that much of a strain on the relationship. Maybe they shouldn't be together.
Why would it be strange to commit 100%?
At least in your 20s. I had no idea who I was yet how should I know what I want in a relationship. I see it as a time to find yourself. Meet others and see what works for you want you want and need. Then find someone that fits that profile. If I focus on makeing one relationship work. I will only know who I am with that other person. And when it goes wrong you don't know anything about yourself.
If you find a relationship and it works that's great. But look at what is possible
Thank you. This is really insightful!
I really don't think most girls do this one either
I think it may be a bit a rising trend among young people in general not just girls because we are nurturing a narcissistic attitude in children these days

Not even close to most but yeah there's plenty of girls that do this. I know a few women that do this to make sure they have a date for a big wedding or to make sure they aren't single during Thanksgiving or Christmas or Valentine's or their birthday. A lot of women will stay with a guy they don't love or don't think is good enough for the same reasons. My older brother says that 'women are lile monkeys not letting go of one branch until they have hold of another'. I think he's right about many women.
Ohh. But is being single on all these occasions really that dreadful?
For some it is. Some women treat men as accessories, kinda like a fancy handbag to impress people.
Hmm not really that impressive, to me. :/
Nor me.
yes, not only women but men aswell. The next better man/woman that comes along and they leave their S. O. But if you think about it for a sec, it really shouldn't come as a surprise because of the hypersexualized society we live in nowadays. Where sex is promoted everywhere be it on TV, commercials, billboards, the streets. This has an effect on us humans, and I am sad to say these are negative effects for the most part.
Kind of true in some ways.
Not all girls of course but many of them are interested in our monnies. -.-
Fortunately I didn't see any in a long time. But the age ranging from teen to 20s is having the most concentration of hypergamous monkeybranchers. More money, more problems. No money, infinite problems.
I hate that. Gold diggers are disgusting >:C
Replace the word "girls" with "guys" then we can say "yes!"
A third question now? 😂
Carry on 😏
It’s part of the brainwashing they have received during their extensive “education”.
Not all women are like that, but unfortunately there are many of them out there.
It won’t happen if I’m his girlfriend. But sometimes it’s hard to say no to people so I might have to give out my boyfriend’s number to guys who ask me for mine. 🙂 Hopefully he won’t mind too much.
I don't think it's very common, but obviously there are people who do that. Most of my friends are in their early twenties and I don't know anyone who is interested in monkeybranching.
The vast majority, yes. It's rooted in psychology and physiology.
No. I've never met that kind of a girl nor was/am I that kind of a woman...
Yes because there is this girl I like, she has a boyfriend and sometimes we go out, just the two of us.
No I’ve never done that lol.. and know plenty of people who wouldn’t do stuff like that
Don't deny it, men do this too. It's basically an attribute of shitty people
More than just that.
Girls who have boyfriends also have sex with other guys.
It's just stupid.
It's hard to make generalizations, but I'd think if you have a boyfriend you should be getting plenty of attention from him
I don't know if most, but I've certainly met quite a few girls like that
Most women are like that. You are only good till the next guy comes along that they see as better.
Yes i think
But all girls are not like that
What about you
I don't think so
Many girls commit to a single guy and stay happy.
I have many friends who genuinely like their guys.
I think that relationship insurance if one don’t workout there the back.
Yes, that's a common thing for women and it's why casual relationships are the future.
Maybe under 20 but not early 20s
I don't think it's most of them, no.
Not most, but yes, a lot of girls like to do this.
I know I am
I respect honesty.
Sadly yea, many girl are like that
Yes. Lots of women do this. It's female nature
Probably...
I wouldn't know..
Most young people are dumb
I don't think most. I think maybe like 30%
Yeah
elaborate please
*insert elaborative statement here*
you fail
Nope.
I would say yes
Some.
Yeah
