Girls, Does prolonged staring need to be followed up with a smile in order to be shown as interest?

Girls give prolonged eye contact at guys they like. Ok. But does that eye contact NEED to be followed up with a smile to be taken as interest. Girls always give me blank expresionless stares that last for more than 5 seconds. Some even do it blatantly and periodically knowing ill see them and they won't look away which made me curious. Now im not fishing for compliments and shit like that. Just tell me why ☺

Is it absolutely necessary to get a smile? Can a person whos staring still be interested without smiling is what im asking

There are too many reasons why a girl might stare at you, usually I feel it’s because you’ve looked at her and aren’t looking away. We don’t really care when we see an attractive guy, it’s not that big a deal to us and we don’t like being stared at so we don’t stare at others. Smiling might make it seem like you think it’s funny, it depends on the girl and if she likes being looked at or even the type of smile. When I hated being looked at (the whole I’m not a sex object/price of meat thing) one guy smiled at me cause he found it funny that I visibly hated being stared at, and once when I liked it this guys face lit up, he smiled and said hey and that felt nice and made me smile.

I wish this wastrue but they are the ones to initiate. ITS NEVER ME. I understand the harrassmenr women go through everyday and i respect everyones pricacy regardless of gender. I look straight and keep walking. It starts with me talking to my friend and smiling and all the atttention gets on me somehow. Its never me aho initiates. A glance? Fine. Everyone does it. A stare though? there's something that peeked her interest. I don't know..

I don’t know, it could be a lot of reasons. I’d only stare at someone based on what are doing or saying, being loud or talking about something that interests me or maybe there is something interesting on you like a tattoo or she just thinks you’re attractive. I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s just her looking at you. Plenty of guys stare at me and it doesn’t mean anything, I stare at guys sometimes and it means nothing.

It's complicated. They could find you attractive and be trying to decide whether they are going to risk a smile. I know I do this/ have done this. However they could also just be looking around the room. I made brief eye contact with a guy in Whole Foods one time without smiling and he took that as an invitation to come over to my friend and I which honestly I thought was weird. If she's not smiling, she's not sure or ready for you to approach her but it's still possible that she finds you attractive

It never makes lol. Some people say they stare without smiling to make it obvious too which is just more confusing. Like once i walked into a store and me and my 2 other friends were the only ones there. I was just looking around only to catche her staring at me. She wouldn't look away and kept the eye lock for so long so i looked away. I made sure it wasn't something behind me or something on my face. Another thing is that its always when im talking with my friends and smiling and generally being happy with them. But somehow they dont look at the guy right next to me or anything its only on me -_-.

Another time in class this girl who sits in front of my friend who sits in front of me asked if she could use his desk to work with her friends right beside us. He agreed and i allowed my friend to use my desk to work with me. So me and my friend are talking and this girl just starts staring at me out of nowhere. I take peeks as im talking and she's just full on staring. Not looking away. Just a blank stare into my soul. Never talked to her ever in my life either

Well i was assuming you get the point but clearly you didn't. She is staring AT ME. NOT something behind me. NOT someone else. But on ME. Also why the actual f*** would anyone ask a question on people staring if that stare was never directed towards them. Thats what a narcissist would do

People hardly ever look at other people on purpose. I can almost guarantee that she’s not staring at you. She may be staring into space in your direction, but it is HIGHLY unlikely that she’s staring at you, unless you often stare at her, and she just happens to look back at you when she notices.

I literally see them in the corner of my eye and looked beside them then directly at them and the eyes are on me. Dont assume im a narcissist because id love it if they were staring at something else behind me just like u said because its creepy and i dont know how to respond. They dont look away either. To say that girls dont stare at guys is very hard to beleive. And no i never stared at her nor do i stare at anyone. Its always them who initiates the eye rape.

Well it happens in multiple places and almost everyday. The gym the mall the class. Its always me too. Never my friend. I go in the gym sign in with my card and tell the person in the front desk that im bringing my friend as a guest and as he's telling them his number i stamd by to the side and this girl that I've seen state at me before just watches me and holds eye contact. Me and my friend sit down and talk for a while at the hangout area and i could just see her staring in my face. I look to confirm and she is.

Im too scared too. I once did it to a girl who blatantly did it to me. She just denied it as she was doing it and said she never did. She kept taking a lot of glances and stares.
