Got ghosted in the middle of a very interesting conversation?

A woman and I started a very interesting philosophical conversation about time and causality. Over several hours we were responding to eachother back and forth with paragraphs of text. By all accounts it was a very interesting conversation.

Out of nowhere she stopped responding, so I waited about 8 hours before sending another message, asking if I had said something that caused her to not respond. She responded later by stating that life got busy, and she would message me when things calmed down.

I noticed that she was online most every time I got online over the next few days, but I didn't send anything. After four days or so I noticed she was online I sent another message saying that i hope things had settled down for her, and that I enjoyed our previous conversation. Since then she hasn't responded, but read the message. she's subsequently been online nearly every time I checked who was online.

I understand she had no interest in speaking with me, and dont wish to send her any more messages. I'm just curious as to why she would suddenly decide mid conversation that she seemed to be very actively interested in (recommending videos to me, responding very quickly, asking me my thoughts on something, etc.), to completely stop responding. Then to evidently be disingenuous about messaging me when things settled down for her.

Ahhhh this must've been so frustrating. If you're not bothered to read for 4th point, just skip to the very last sentence of this reply, it's okay.
So. It could be a couple reasons:
1. She was never interested and was only texting back out of politeness, but she finally stopped caring.
2. She wasn't that interested, but got turned off by something you said, or concluded she didn't find you interesting
3. (This is what I thought originally but as I kept reading, I no longer fully think so, but I'll write it out just in case) She likes you as a friend, but she's genuinely a very busy person and just isn't good at messaging ANYONE back on time unless she's really in the mood- I'm like this, but the reason I don't think this is the reason is because I NEVER open the chat to leave it on 'Read/Seen', I simply leave it unopened till I'm free/bothered. She however had no problem opening the chat and leaving you on Read. So I don't really think this is the reason.
4. Some people are just fucking ridiculous and only care about themselves- Ages ago I had this really close friend, one of my BEST. But she was an incredibly flaky person to EVERYONE. Just would make excuses. One tome, she did this to me on my surprise birthday party. Kept ignoring the person who invited her (even though she originally said she was going), and just didn't show up. When I found out she flaked on someone else's event for MY surprise birthday, I texted her "why?" & how what she did was wrong (to make a long story short). She Read it, and NEVER messaged me back. We NEVER talked again, met up, anything. One of my own best friends. We hadn't even fought previously, she was just this type of person. Can you imagine? I unfriended her after a week of her silence, but for soooo long after I kept trying to understand... Itried to understand why she stopped fucking with me over NOTHING, someone who was incredibly close to her. But some people just have so many issues... that if you don't possess these fucked up inner-issues, you'll never understand their ridiculousness.

What I'm trying to say is... If someone whose best friend was you and even THEY can ghost you for no reason (which happened to me), then ANYONE can possess this inner-issues that causes them to turn their backs like a coward. And for so long you can waste your time wondering why, but you won't ever know. Not really. And do you know what? You're better without this flaky fuck of a woman. She wouldn't make you life easier if she didn't ignore you, she'd make it harder if she became close. Unreliable people are not worth it. So if she messages you back; great. but is she decides to keep ghosting you, don't even worry about the likes of her.

I understand that feeling. It happens sometimes, you just have to go through it. If she's interested to talk further she'll contact you. Let it be for a while, who knows things could be really hectic on her side.

Understood, that's the approach I'm taking at the moment. I just found it bizarre that she was online for hours on end, during this time

Hurt isn't it and ignored. I had that too and i become so obsessed with it. Checking him out every 30mins to see him "online". I was so consumed by it... And i gave myself a deadline. No response within 7 days, i just delete everything. And i did. 3 days LATER i received a message from him. Good to know I've been on his mind.

I've certainly been at that point, but this was more like me logging on and noticing that she was also on. I haven't actively been checking if she is, just noticing that whenever I am, she is.

I'm not hurt, just a bit confused. Perhaps it will work out as it did for you

Just dont think too much into it, the always online is the one making you confused and hurt for me haha! I deleted him so i dont need to see he is online all the time.
