Does talking to other guys after a break-up really help you get over it?

I have been trying to get over this guy that I fell extremely hard for. One of the things that I've been doing to try to feel better is hanging out with someone new (I'm not interested in the new guy though. He knows that I'm still in love with the other guy). Anyway, at times I feel dirty for hanging out with him because I feel like I am cheating on the man that I love, even though he is the one that broke things off with me. It bothers me so much that I am thinking about not talking to the other guy anymore. Is the way that I am feeling normal, and if so, does it mean that I should wait to hang out with guys again until I feel like I'm over him? Cause it seems to me like the ache that I feel when I am sometimes hanging out with the new guy is making it worse for me. Not all the time, but some of the time for sure.

Since I kept feeling dirty, I reiterated to the new guy that I'm uncomfortable with the situation. I knew that I didn't have it for him, so it's best that I stop hanging out with him cause I'm pretty sure that he was developing feelings for me beyond friends.

Its called rebound. You are dating rebound guy and you should really make yourself pathetic so that he dumps you and you don't hurt his feelings like your ex did to you. Take time to get over your ex... party, buy new clothes, go to manicures, go to therapy, read self-help books, have sex w/no strings attached for a while. Try to learn to be happy and to like yourself again cause abandonment is a bitch! It will take you a few years to get over him so get ready for very hard times.

It doesn't help. It can distract you. But at the end of the day, when your alone and thinking to yourself, your mind is going to go back to him. I'm going through the same thing right now. Other guys are a distraction from the pain, but eventually you are going to have to deal with it and move on.

If you feel hanging around the new guy is wrong then tell it to him in a nice way, as for your EX give it sometime before you try and communicate..
