no, not necessarily. It's a friendly thing to do. It doesn't mean anything either way... just a different way to say hey... but with some extra friendliness... like you wouldn't text someone that unless you were friends. But could just as easily say that to someone you like too. Don't ready anything particular into it.

Ok yes, you are right. I should've actually instead asked:

Oh fair enough... but the answer is actually the same either way. It's imossible to read anything into "hey" either way. BUT the FACT that she is texting you AT ALL might POSSIBLY mean she likes you. If you don't usually talk over text. If you tell me abit more about who she is and whatnot, I can probably help you better. But you do need to answer. Or she'll definitely be upset that you didn't respond
