While I agree that some people are sexist, and depending on ones upbringing there will be females that agree... But reading the comments, I just see a lot of guy bashing and it seems unwarranted personally
That's a great question and I would like to know the answer too.
I know guys who yell, scream, and have a clenched fist to back up his words. And there are men who back him up. Why do they do that? It's a similar question.
So you've never said/thought anything negative about men?
Also how come women don't call other women sexist when they say using men for money is okay... in fact women will say it's mens fault for dating a gold digger. Weird how that works huh.

No, I don't say sexist comments about men, and if I did, how would that make it okay? 2 wrongs don't make a right. Plus, I don't think it's right to use a man for his money. But usually in sugar daddy situations, the man is old and he wants a much younger, hotter woman. He wants her to use him for money or he won't get her
Actually the sugar daddy concept isn't sexist. What is sexist about that statement? Did I say all men are sugar daddies? No. But we know there does exist a business transaction exchanging money for youth
I agree with the use for sex thing if it's a friends with benefits relationship. Both guy and girl are using eachother for sex. As for the worthless things, it's just an opinion, some agree some disagree. There are guys that hate guys. Same thing
yes. there's nothing wrong with racist comments. you are allowed to not like other "races". do i condone or support that? no. can i forbid those opinions? no. because there's freedom of thought and freedom of opinion. i can't forbid anybodies opinion, if i don't want my opinion to be forbidden. basic logic.
That doesn't mean there is nothing wrong with making statements like that. You can think it all you want, but when you make sexist/racist statements, you spread the hate and normalize it
you see what happens a lot is that people just call an opinion racist or sexist to silence that opinion without it ever being sexist or racist. you don't get to silence someone with convenient labels of unpopuplar opinions. i won't agree with that and you are as free to disagree with me. that's what free speech is about.
No, we do not. When I say black people earn less money than white people, I'm called racist. When i say that the gener wage gap is a myth originating from one bullshit study that was taken back from the authors for a lack of validity, people tell me I'm sexist. People don't know what those terms mean.
How are you called a racist if you say blacks make less than whites? That's not a racist comment. Neither is analyzing a wage Gap chart. But, if you say women are useless after 30, that is sexist because there is absolutely no proof of it. If you say everyone is useless after 30, then it's not sexist because you have included both genders
i know those things. i chose those examples to show that not everyone knows those things. do you see the problem? they do not understand that this isn't sexist/racist/whatever but they still want to silence me for being exactly that. and by proxyi may not understand something who utters a thing that i think is bad. and therefore both me and them in my opinion should not have the right to silence someone else on behalf of such judgements. does that make sense?
The problem is calling a statement sexist. Because that discourages civil discourse. You can of course disagree with a statement. But calling it sexist is in my opinion more often a label used for silencing than for adequate categories.
And aren't you discouraging civil discourse even more by not allowing someone to call that statement sexist? We have freedom of speech, so someone can make a sexist or racist comment if they want, but someone else is also allowed to point out that the statement is sexist or racist
in my opinion, i am facilitating civil discourse, cause without those labels, you have to reason their position and can not just use a ideologically loaded label instead of a valid argument.
i mean look at the recent coronavirus discussion. people who critique the measures and the statistics are called "conspiracy theorists" without ever invalidating their arguments. that's the danger of using those ideologically loaded labels. i am for free speech and against labels that supress free speech.
i think that the label "hatespeech" are currently used to supress unpopular opinions.
you know i think your English definition of hate speak kind of sucks... it says "abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation." this is so terribly wonky, you can basically call every opinion you disagree with "abusive", cause it hurts your feelings, which is actually done by liberal extremists, if you've been following the media.
in germany, we instead use the word "volksverhätzung", which means "speech that incites the pursuit and the harm of particular groups of people". with that definition it is much harder to prohibit valid opinions.
so i think eventually i don't agree with the definition of "hatespeech". because according to the definition of hatespeech, me saying that black people earn less is hatespeech. because it is a prejudice on the basis of race.
Sexist and racist comments are not civil discourse because they attack that group. You seem to be confused between racist and non-racist comments by lumping any racial comment into hate speech.
Blacks earn less money is not a racist comment. It's a fact. Blacks are criminals is a racist comment because it insinuates that all black are criminals
Sexist and racist comments are part of civil discourse. Not listening to something because you already labeled it sexist or racist, that is not civil discourse.
Well when you look at crime rates, it is true that the majority of crimes commited are black. So this statement isn't racist see? That's the problem with using those labels.
Wrong. The statement: blacks are criminals insinuates all black are criminals. That's not true, therefore it is a racist statement meant to degrade the black race. If you were to say, 60% of blacks commit crimes, then that would not be a racist statement and it would allow civil discourse.
Civil discourse is meant to help us understand more in a respectable way. Racist and sexist statements attack people on the basis of stereotype
It's a big difference to say blacks are criminals vs. blacks are more likely to be criminals. The latter invites civil discourse, while the former is ignorance
Everything is sexist today... You anti sexist are just like feminists... In theory you want equality but practice clearly indicates who deserves superior position in your opinion...
Because girls know its true. Women like a man who will stand up to people trying to shut him up or shame him to be silent at doing things like calling out hos and telling the truth about dating.

So, the truth in dating is based off sexist remarks? Women who have sex are whores and men who have sex are saints? There is no logic behind these ideas which is why they are sexist stereotypes
There is logic because its mostly subjective. If many men dont value women who sleep around... well then many men dont value women who sleep around. It could make a lot of sense it could make no sense or somewhere in between. It doesn't change the fact that many men dont value women who sleep around. And thats that. in my opinion its true. I dont value women who sleep around. Most men i know dont value them. And tbh i dont care what anyone else does. I dont date "hos" and ill scream it from a mountain and idgaf if you think its sexist or doesn't make sense. Im proud i dont date hos and many women mainly ones who aren't hos appreciate me for not dating hos and also not being afraid to say it out loud.
Okay, but you are saying girls will back up sexist remarks because they know "it's true." Then you contradict yourself by saying it's "subjective." So why not change your answer to "because they agree with the sexist comment?"
Just because its subjective doesn't make it not true. I think blue is the best color and its subjective but its a fact i prefer blue.
Just as what exactly a ho is and what that means is quite subjective, it doesn't change that it is very clearly factual that men as a category value women that could be considered hos as less valuable.
It's still a sexist stereotype. You may feel women are not attract be after 30, but a lot of men would disagree with you. So why would a woman (when she will someday be over 30,) agree that all women are useless after 30?
I dont think any men are seriously saying ALL women over 30 are USELESS. But a majority of a men do not value as highly women over 30 is a fact. As many men can factually attest that this is their subjective preference.
Whether it is objectively or subjectively "sexist" is irrelevant because its true. Ie if its sexist its still true but if its not sexist its also still true. So... why is whether its sexist even relevant?
Wow if thats the case than fk men honestly. If they all think like that, thats horrible. I might as well try to make myself a lesbian now jesus christ.
Because not all women are uptight so called feminists with a purple sock up their ass and actually gets humour OR really don't want to be bothered with anymore feminist bullshit?

Because some women can be the worst misogynists, even more so than men. My sister is a female misogynist. My current girlfriend is one, and no: it's not pleasant.
@it2ly everytime I tell her that such atititude it's not cool, she gets angry and we have an argument. I love her and I know she's a good person since she helped me out and literally saved my life, but I don't agree with her opinions on other women and some of her more extreme political opinions.
Women who are very religious seem to really hate on themselves. Those certain religions have very strict rules for women. And if a woman does not follow that rule like waiting for marriage to have sex then everyone even the women around her call her a slut. But they don't look at the man because it takes two to actually have consenual sex. He's excused because he's a man. But the woman should know better while the man can just do whatever he wants.
Damn fair enough. Maybe one day she will become more leaning to the left, and change her views. But if you love her and she's a good person then its okay. Thankyou for trying
@it2ly thank you. She already got a little softer, so I do hope that some of my tolerance and open mindness is rubbing off on her. I won't force her and I still love her even if she said and did awful things, but I do believe she'll become a better person, I see she's trying
Because some of them have been brainwashed by internet trolls that say the only rational women are the ones who are ashamed of their gender and the ones who see women as the worst.
That’s probably because you misinterpreted what the guy said. He probably said “sexual market value” instead of worth which is what you heard and they are very different things.

The examples I give don't matter, what does is when men make sexist comments and women agree,,, like only men could be in politics etc
I have never heard a guy say that either. They probably said that they won’t vote for a woman just because she is a woman, she needs to have the skill set fit for the job.
I feel like there is either a lot of context missing in each scenario or the guys were joking and the women were able to pick up on that and could be playing along. I don't know I can’t really make any judgements from only what the guy said and not the conversation within the last five minutes before he said it.
Perhaps I should've been more detailed in my question. But I heard a man in his 50s tell a girl in her 30s something along the lines that women have no value after 30 and the younger girl was agreeing with him saying they get ugly, fat, etc.
I don’t know. I can’t really say why she is just agreeing with it. Maybe it’s true in a statistical sense that a lot of women let their bad lifestyle habits catch up to them at an age where the repercussions will affect them more but that’s also true for men. She probably agrees with it because he didn’t say that the same isn’t true for men. That’s my guess though but he is definitely being a bit hyperbolic when he says that they have no value (he is probably still talking about sexual market value in that kind of context).

Your last sentence is extreme sexist 😂. Congrats you're a normal person who has shitty points of views 👏👏
Extremely**
They're called Sugar Daddies for a reason.
They basically spoil girls with expensive stuff. It's just the truth m8
Actually the sugar daddy concept isn't sexist. What is sexist about that statement? Did I say all men are sugar daddies? No. But we know there does exist a business transaction exchanging money for youth
Your statement is extremely sexist.
Why are you @MuffinBoi defending her sexist comments?
See how that works @Asker.
And tell me exactly how is my last sentence sexist? Please... I'm dying to hear this
My whole point went over your head. Nevermind sis.
You told me my comment is sexist. Please explain
I agree with the use for sex thing if it's a friends with benefits relationship. Both guy and girl are using eachother for sex.
As for the worthless things, it's just an opinion, some agree some disagree. There are guys that hate guys. Same thing
Hello! Look at J-Lo! Only stupid people believe such things.
because nothing is wrong with sexist comments. everyone is entiteled to their opinion even if it's an outrageously idiotic opinion.
although now a days everything is hate speech...
@Silver158 of course. you have an opinion? hatespeech!
There is nothing wrong with sexist comments? With this logic, is there also nothing wrong with racist comments?

because there is a huge danger of censoring a valid statement based on opinion, that may or may not be sensible to have.
Well my original question is why girls defend the sexist statement. There's a big difference between defending a statement and keeping quiet about it
you're both opinionist. That is all.
The problem is calling a statement sexist. Because that discourages civil discourse. You can of course disagree with a statement. But calling it sexist is in my opinion more often a label used for silencing than for adequate categories.

take up a hobby? Start a business. Learn a language. Realise arguing online is silly.
@Silver158 those things don't involve human interaction. Debates also engage your critical thinking skills
Same reason men defend women that shit talk men. They feel the need to worship the other team
Cause sometimes girls are extremely brainwashed. Those two are bad, but a lot aren’t.
Everything is sexist today... You anti sexist are just like feminists... In theory you want equality but practice clearly indicates who deserves superior position in your opinion...
You are talking about hembrism, feminism wantbthe equality
They call themselves feminists... Who am i to tell them different...
If i call men useless. That is not sexist?
Because they internalize patriarchal social dynamics, and sometimes even straight-up sexism and misogyny.
Because girls know its true. Women like a man who will stand up to people trying to shut him up or shame him to be silent at doing things like calling out hos and telling the truth about dating.

@bamesjond0069 I agree
So you're saying remarks like women over 30 are useless is true as if it's a fact? Lmao wow, I feel bad for your wife
Because they are stupid and desperate for attention from men
Sorry but guys aren't the best. We are simply raised to do good and be with the opposite sex. We don't need men - only for reproduction
Look around. Everything you see was made by a man, even this website. Your very existence and way of life was made possible by men.
