This bartender kept on eying me yesterday and she refered to me as "babe". Then at work I had a manager call me "babe" when talking to me. I've heard this means they are attracted and might even be flirting with you?

A word can not be the deciding factor of whether flirting was in use. If this is a regular occurance than next time take into account of the body language used indicating the context of it. If there is an eye contact made than usually there is a possible intrest. Also girls will show there emeotions through how there standing! (it sounds crazy but its true!) Also if they squirm around, play with there hands or hair, or even bite their lip it can be a sign of definate intrest.

Maybe if she were not a bartender who you were talking to while she was working. Bartenders work for tips. Any girl working for tips flirts with random customers all the time if she wants to make really awesome tips. It doesn't necessarily mean she is attracted to you, but it doesn't mean she isn't attracted to you either. In fact, she probably never even thought about it one way or another.

well, in the case of your manager, I assume you 2 are close enough to be acquaintances. it means that she probably feels comfortable with you and likes you as a friend. the bartender part may be just to keep you buying more drinks. there probably isn't much of a flirtatious meaning behind it. now if they wink at you and call you babe all the time, that is flirting.
