A real girl is one that was born with 2 X chromosomes - XX, while a male has an X and a Y = XY. There is no argument about that. You can dress a wolf as a sheep but it is still a wolf.
Well i hate to break it to ya but gender and sex are two completely different things. Spill science however u want when u can't even understand the most basic distinction between sex and gender
@gaygod_19 Nothing was said about sex in the question. It asked if trans girls were real girls - period. I'm talking science/biology which may be beyond your understanding as there are only two genders that were created. Now people are coming out of the woodwork with their own ideas of gender and sex just because they don't feel they fit in with the two lawfully recognized genders/sexes. It's like calling yourself a unicorn because you don't like being a horse.
@gaygod_19 I don't buy this notion that gender and sex are 'separate'. People claim gender is 'how you relate to yourself' but that's just your personality. Personality =/= gender. That would be like saying "I like playing with dolls, therefore I must be a girl". Playing with dolls doesn't make someone a girl, if you're a boy that likes playing with dolls it simply means you're a boy that likes playing with dolls.
Also if gender and sex are completely separate and have nothing to do with eachother, then what is the point in having a sex change?
I respect a person's right to choose and I dont think its big brother governments job to tell people what they can and can't spend their money on. If they wanna use that money to have a sex change, that's their right. Where I draw the line though is when people start spewing misinformation and saying things like "Gender is a social construct" or that there are no differences between men and women.
people nowaday are discussing the truth instead of the fantasy if the idealistic "2 genders", get a grip lol and biologically it is not even always xx or xy (yes intersex people exist)
@Hunter7754 personality and gender are some ways related but not always. Sure it's true if you're a boy who loves dolls, it doesn't necessarily mean you're a girl. Being trans is not about having hobbies or interests that are different from your sex group, according to social norms. Even tho we cannot deny that a lot of trans people tend to express themselves in heteronormative ways that our ciset society has dictated. (for example: trans women tend to love wearing makeup and feminine clothes like how our society has been compelling women into doing, trans men tend to be hypermasculine and express themselves in ways that society has compelled men into that they should be (and there's nothing wrong with the way we choose to express ourselves))
@Hunter7754 the differences between trans people and people who simply "have different hobbies that don't fit into societal norms of how a male/female should have", is Gender dysphoria, which is the feeling of distress or discomfort because of the difference between a person’s gender (assigned at birth) and their gender identity.
@Hunter7754 sex is biologically made, while gender is how we choose to express ourselves (which is influenced by social norms since men and women in every era have very different ways of expressing ourselves) For example: heels were created and first worn by men, as a fashion statement that men in heels were more attractive since they would look taller. In the 1920s, some groups had been describing pink as a masculine color, an equivalent of the red that was considered to be for men, but lighter for boys. Skirts have been worn since prehistoric times. They were the standard dressing for men and women in all ancient cultures in the Near East and Egypt. Even nowadays i see my Burmese male housemates walking around the house with long skirts on. The queue or cue is a hairstyle worn by the Jurchen and Manchu people of Manchuria, and later required to be worn by male subjects of Qing dynasty China. Hair on top of the scalp is grown long and is often braided, while the front portion of the head is shaved...
@gaygod_19 "sex is biologically made, while gender is how we choose to express ourselves"
You're confusing 'gender' with personality. Your personality is how you choose to express yourself.. A girl thats a tomboy is not automatically a boy just because she wears boy clothes or or plays with toys that are marketed towards boys.
"Gender dysphoria, which is the feeling of distress or discomfort because of the difference between a person’s gender (assigned at birth) and their gender identity. "
So whats the point in having the surgery then though if gender is only a social construct and has nothing to do with your biological sex? Its a self-defeating argument to argue that gender is only a social construct while simultaneously saying that if someone feels discomfort in the body they're in to have surgery because you're then admitting that gender is not actually a mere social construct but is related to biology.
There have been studies that show that infants choose toys that are marketed towards their gender.
@Hunter7754 Having a certain type of personality that's different from your gender group (according to social norms) doesn't always mean that you're "actually another gender". I never said that. "A girl thats a tomboy is not automatically a boy just because she wears boy clothes or or plays with toys that are marketed towards boys." yea... i also made it clear that's not the case. Assigned-female-at-birth (afab) people who love trucks and dirt aren't necessarily means they're males, but if they're uncomfortable with having a biological female body and hate it whenever being adressed to as female, then they might not be female. Assigned-male-at-birth (amab) people who love playing with dolls aren't necessarily means they're female, but if they're uncomfortable with having a biologically male body or being addressed as male, then they might not be male. To be trans you need to have gender dysphoria, which has TO INCLUDE body dysmorphia (means ur unhappy with your genitals, chest, hips,...) and therefore going through surgeries or hormones therapy to change those things. Gender IS a social construct, it does not always match our biology. Trans people usually go through transition to either match their biology with their gender (male or female) but there are also trans people (who happens to be non binary, gender fluid, gender non confirming, etc,...) that also go through transition to be comfortable in their body, even if it doesn't fit into a binary.
@Hunter7754 and well, there are studies of how parents influence children's toy preference, as well as analysis that shows how older boys are more likely to play with boys toys when compared to younger boys. As well as data that shows how boys play with "boy toys" less when at home when compared to when at the laboratory. and also this: " Additionally, an effect of the length of time since study publication was found: girls played more with female-typed toys in earlier studies than in later studies (β = .70, p < .0001), whereas boys played more with male-typed toys (β = .46, p < .05) in earlier studies than in more recent studies."
You can be who you want. But don't take from women government benefits bc you made the choice to increase your health cost. Women born as women have no choice. They can get pregnant and have to maintain periods so the tax money is there to help out with that. As long as you identify woman but don't try to create a financial burden. We are born how we are. Psychological differences do accept but don't accept a choice driven transformation. Only pre identified as kid that you were different. Opinion.
no TF 😂 can they get pregnant , have they period and have ovaries like us? no they can't and idc if any trans says they dont want to have kids so its fine but thats besides the point , if you were born a man and wanna switch to a woman i mean you can look like one and get a gender reassignment but you will never go through the struggles like us lmfao
I'm amazed that a 16 year old girl got more brains than all the adults who buy into the bullshit that a transperson is truly the gender they claim to be. My compliments to you @bri2brazy
@Akachan Nitpicking won't help here, sweetie. Nobody claimed an infertile woman isn't a woman. She is. And her genetics prove it. Totally different story than a dude cutting his dick and balls off to pretend he is a woman.
@TruthBringer "Nobody claimed an infertile woman isn't a woman" but she did, i just read it. "no TF 😂 can they get pregnant". Also idc if I'm nitpicking, its not my fault their wrong.
@Akachan This is an invalid interpretation on your end. She speaks exclusively about transgenders here. A man who is infertile is still a man. Same applies for an infertile woman. You can always ask the OP directly if she sees infertile women as women or not. Other than that, her entire comment is correct. And no, others aren't wrong just because you don't like what they say. That's your own irrelevant view on the topic.
@Akachan real women can get pregnant barring medical complications. a trans woman can't get pregnant because of physically lacking reproductive organs. its not the same thing
I don't particularly care as to whether they're "real girls" or not. I just don't think about it and when it comes to dating one, if they're feminine with a higher voice, then sure why not? I do want kids in the future though, so I would want to marry a girl with a magic triangle as opposed to an old chap like yours truly.
If they want to think that they're a girl, then sure go for it, but personally I'd define a girl as someone born with a vagina from birth.
Technical not, no. Girls and women have periods, ovaries, coochie... Etc. Trans girls aren't real girls because there not biological girls ( still a male brain with male brain chemistry) and try haven't had to put up with the struggles that a proper girl has too.
Dudes who want to become a female, fine. They can get gender surgery and change hormones but they can NEVER be 100% female. Because you can't change the brain chemistry and how one thinks, feels, acts. I'm born a male. I have a male brain. I'm not gonna change my brain if I get surgery, am I? Therefore if I did change, I would still have a male brian with male traits.
No , they are a facsimile. Some trans girls look good. When use to be a trans I could pass as a good copy of a woman. But that is all it is. What I wanted was the real thing. To hold my baby the whole thing. It upsets me so much I tried to kill myself...
NO. Transgender women and men have a serious mental health issue. They can be great people and all that, but they are deluded. I respect them as people but that doesn’t mean it's ok to play into their fantasies. I don't condone psychological illnesses.
Transgender women are men no matter what they do. That is their biology and it'll never change.
I don't know when people will start minding their own business. You've a tail? Awesome! You're a girl who likes other girls? Oml, cool. You're a homeless person trying to become a surgeon? Good luck! You're try to alter your gender from man to woman? Okay.
I have no issue with trans people but i believe in biology and technology if all trans people were male or female there'd be no need for them to transition in to whatever gender they transitioned into.
@snowboarder720 i never mentioned surgery, i ment transition as in changing ones self to appear as the opposite sex. But either way even if they do it still means biologically they are the gender they were born with or else if they could magically just change into a woman with a vag and tits like that there'd be no need for them to go through anything medical. Just because you feel like your something doesn't suddenly change the chromosomes you were born with.
You can't deny basic biology just because it might hurt someone feelings. That's a extremely dangerous thing to do.
If we could just all change are genetics based on are feelings. Does that mean i can identify as a 60 year old Asian man if that's how i felt?
@glitterfairy you are confused with the two terms sex and gender. Sex is what you’re born with. Gender is how the person perceives themself. You can google their definitions and it will tell you the difference.
The fact that you said “they are the gender they were born with” isn’t correct.
@snowboarder720 even so doesn't mean a trans women is a biological woman. Also i don't really trust what Googles defines sex and gender as given the fact they are run by billionaire Liberals who probably changed their definitions to suit the social and political environment we live in today.
@glitterfairy I agree with what you said; because they don’t have the anatomy doesn’t mean their sex is female. Yes, I 100% agree.
Sex and gender don’t mean the same thing or else there wouldn’t be two completely different words. As a young 16 year old I suggest you look into their differences and learn about them before you TRY to talk like you know what you’re saying when you speak about the topic.
No, there are only two genders, male and female, and you cannot change your gender.
Surgically altering your genitals and taking hormones does not change your gender. Every cell in your body contains DNA with your gender fingerprint that cannot be changed.
Whatever gender you were at birth you will remain your entire life. So a transgender person will remain whatever gender they are at birth no matter how they alter their body. The changes are just cosmetic, not biolgical.

Hermaphrodites are not an exception to the two gender rule. They are a combination of each of the two genders, not a third gender. Nor are they an exception to the rule that all people will remain the same gender that they were born with their whole lives.
Yes, they are. I’ll clarify that their gender is female while their sex is male. There’s a difference between the two words and most get them confused. Don’t believe me? Look up both of their definitions. Transfobic people will say otherwise. See the comments following my answer below...
I know someone who works in a nursing home and one of their residents was born with a penis so they proclaimed him make of course, but he grew all natural like C cup boobs during puberty, so I’m my opinion, if they feel more feminine and want to go by female, then I’ll support them. It has to do with chromosomes but I haven’t really looked into the science of this yet.
@007kingifrit@Chriscunning@TruthBringer how is this an exception? No all men with more of the girl chromosome and a penis are blessed in the booby department. Are people actually having surgery to change their gender just because?
@007kingifrit how do you know they’re not right about themselves? Something I can read about the science behind it and why men feel more like women, vice versa
you're asking the wrong questions, science is about asserting a positive, not a negative. someone has to make an argument that they are right about themselves, and then we can respond to that. we can't prove "they are wrong about themselves" because a negative statement can never be proven.
for example you cannot prove a leprachaun isn't behind you right now, each time you try to prove one is NOT behind you i can always add an excuse like "maybe its too small to see. this is called the negative evidence paradox
well that should be obvious, how often do we see men naturally grow boobs? i've never seen it my whole life except for one old pothead. its an extreme rare example and we shouldn't use extreme examples to make rules
@007kingifrit exactly. Some people are born hermaphrodites too. There is a HARDWARE issue (biology) not software issue (mental health). These anomalies are extremely rare. These people have my sympathy and understanding vs. the question asker who just wants to feel better about his decision.
If a completely normal biological male or female wants to undergo gender reassignment surgery I very strongly question their motives. 99% of the time it’s an unrelated issue outside of true gender dysphoria. But once you make the jump there is no coming back. Catilyn Jennar isn’t ever growing a penis back.
The heinous truth is this crap is being encouraged for monetary reasons which is results in people making irreversible decisions to mutilate their bodies. It used to be a very in depth lengthy process until someone could proceed with surgery. But now it’s being encouraged.
Well if there is science behind men feeling like woman and vice versa. It's interesting because there is science behind depression and we take tablets. It is classified as a "disorder". Wouldn't that then mean it is a disorder?
Also the problem with science applied to feelings and beliefs is that it is not science, it is our feeling. So scientific studies are probably vague.
@Chriscunning gender dsyphoria is exceedingly rare. But I did read a story about a ww2 combat pilot who had a wife and kids do this later in life (one of the first surgeries) and not regretting. There is even a more recent one of a former navy SEAL who did this. He’s one guy (or girl) I wouldn’t make tranny jokes to.
With that said it should NOT AND NEVER be “trendy and hip” to do this crap. You are literally mutilating your body.
Anyway, Trans... Aren't they the people who look like Girls, but with a penis? Hard to say! I think it comes down to what they were to start out as... We're they Girls, who got a Penis surgery, or were they Boys who got Boobs and makeup? Hard to tell!!
They are not and will always be guys according to straight penises. This is why there are no straight guys who likes to date trans girls. Don't even try to make exceptions because they won't be considered as a hundred percent straight men at that point.
I have voted yes they are real girls. They have the right to think so. However, they cannot force men to think that same. If they start a relationship with a man, then they should let them know from the start. Don't base your happiness on what others think; masculinity, femininity, they aren't written in stone.

It has to do with chromosomes but I haven’t really looked into the science of this yet.
Proclaimed him male*
And I’m a Christian, but this is something abnormal and uncontrollable that happened to them..
But this is an exception. I think the asker is talking about a normal male that has become a girl.
Pointing to exceptions to the rule doesn't disprove the rule. This you have explained is an exception.
growing boobs doesn't make someone female. it can happen from drug use in childhood like weed
being trans is nothing but a social construct
@007kingifrit Very well said!
That’s a rare situation and a different story.
@007kingifrit @Chriscunning @TruthBringer how is this an exception? No all men with more of the girl chromosome and a penis are blessed in the booby department. Are people actually having surgery to change their gender just because?
Not all men*
Do any of you have something I can read about it?
something you can read on what? you're being really vague. just because someone gets surgery doesn't mean they were right about themselves
Can I pm you
@007kingifrit WHAT QUESTIONS SHOULD I BE ASKING
you shouldn't be asking any question, you should be asserting empirical evidence to support your claim; then we will debunk it. and so on
@007kingifrit how is the situation I mentioned an exception?
well that should be obvious, how often do we see men naturally grow boobs? i've never seen it my whole life except for one old pothead. its an extreme rare example and we shouldn't use extreme examples to make rules
@007kingifrit exactly. Some people are born hermaphrodites too. There is a HARDWARE issue (biology) not software issue (mental health). These anomalies are extremely rare. These people have my sympathy and understanding vs. the question asker who just wants to feel better about his decision.
Actually the question asked is not a transsexual. My mistake. The way it was phrased seemed like he was (the handclaps next to “yes”)
@007kingifrit some women are born with AA cups! Smaller than man boobs! Basically mosquito bite sized boobs, and I thought they had testing done.
@bluetoblack99 yes! I want to understand the biology behind this.
Oh Hey! Haven't seen you around for awhile!
