My female friend texts me far more often than my male buddies. Do girls text more often than guys or is it a sign of interest?

I have a female buddy who texts me almost everyday, be it work related or a friendly chatter, she texts me even more often when we don't see each other.
My guy friends on the other hand, text me once or twice a month, usually 3 or 4 text exchanged between us.
So is this normal female behavior to text your friends daily or is it just her?

Yes. Usually female use more words and have tendencies to share things with people we consider friends or more special.
She might like you or consider you as a very close friend that she wants to keep. She might also lonely and need someone to talk to.
