Girls, why is this girl I like avoiding me?

This girl is my co-worker. She has always been friendly with me, noticing when I've shaved or changed something about my appearance and commenting. I have been quiet around her because I am kind of shy. Over the past few weeks I have noticed her staring at me when she thought I wasn't looking. Then the other day she comes up to me and tells me I have something on my face and touches my face to help wipe it off. She then comes back and offers me some of her extra food at lunch. We talk and I can tell she is nervous talking to me but it goes well and she smiles at me. Anyways, the next day at work I see her looking to see when I walk in the door to work. We make eye contact, but when I walk by her desk she turns her back and starts working. We had always said hi or smiled at each other before. The way it happened you could tell she was watching for me to make sure she could avoid a conversation with me. She then changed her routine to avoid me the rest of the day by eating lunch elsewhere, leaving early, etc. She has avoided me ever since and doesn't even acknowledge I exist. It became so uncomfortable that I avoid walking by her desk. She talks to all the other guys at work still. Why wouldn't she at least say hi like before? She's usually so nice. If she is not interested I would understand and still be friendly to her.

Honestly there is so much that could’ve happened. The fact that she treats you differently than the other men in the office is a sign that she does or did have feelings for you, esp since it seems like you didn’t do anything wrong. But maybe she realized that she doesn’t have the emotional bandwidth to support dating another person right now. Maybe she met someone else, and is now trying to lose feelings for you. There are myriad reasons. I would just go up to her one day soon and say, “Hey, I’ve noticed you’ve been distant. Is everything okay? Is there anything I can do to be supportive?”

You could've taken too long to take the hint that she is interested, so she moved on. She may be dating someone new or interested in someone new. If she isn't dating anyone new she could possibly try and get her mind off you by avoiding you and talking to other guys. Find out if she is seeing someone and then make a move.
