We were friends to start off with then we became closer over the next few weeks. I started to get feelings for her and how she was acting I think she felt the same. I made a stupid joke that I wasn’t interested in her and then after that she became so weird and distant around me. She became cold and distant and being guarded like I hurt her. She then started to get my attention and get me to notice her with other guys and acting all happy and flirty trying to make me jealous or for me to notice her with other guys. After I didn’t pay any attention to her she was upset and when I tried to talk to her a few times she’d either be angry or upset and stuttering her words around me. Why the change in her behaviour was it what I said that effected her? Why did she try get me to notice her with other guys?

Yes, she thinks that you rejected her. I doesn't matter if you felt you were just joking around when you told her you were not interested in her. I sure that she took it seriously and was very hurt by it. Her making sure that you saw her with other guys, was possibly her way to get back at you. When you did not respond it just got her mad.

Yeah that all makes sense now. I didn’t mean to hurt her I was being sarcastic when I said it as we were teasing each other all day. How do I get her back?
