so i’ve been hanging out with this girl for a couple months now, and when we first started hanging out it flowed smoothly and i was just enjoying her company soon to realize that i had feelings for her.
well i decided to confront her because i was receiving mixed signals and she said that she isn’t looking for a relationship and as of right now only sees us as being friends. something to keep in mind is that she has a bad relationship history with guys and men in her family so i figured that may play a big part. i say that because she says we are close friends but acts completely different.
for example she will call or text almost everyday asking to hang out and when we do hang out she doesn’t hesitate to be close or incorporate touch, she seems to be a bit nervous by fidgeting with her necklace or hair, she will sometimes look at me and just giggle and blush when we make eye contact, and so on. basically her words and actions are very flirty which does not match what she says we are.
everytime after we hang out she will text me telling me how much fun she had and how happy she is im in her life and if i don’t respond for a few minutes she will send another few texts trying to start a conversation and she texts me before she falls asleep every night and when she wakes up every morning to ask what im doing throughout the day and if we’ll be able to hang out again.
naturally i am flirtatious back towards her and everything seems to flow smoothly until i start trying to make it a bit more clear that i see her as more than a friend. this is when she starts to pull away a bit but then when i start to back off that’s when she will start to text and call more and ask to hang out all the time and when we do she continues to show obvious signs of wanting to be more than friends but says we are just friends. so is it possible she has feelings for me and just is unsure or nervous at this stage or am i overthinking this and there’s nothing there and no chance at all?
