I have a cousin who constantly brags about herself. We'll be sitting down and she will be like "I have such soft and shiny hair' 'I have a tiny waist' 'I have long model legs" "everyone is always staring at me' 'I have such full and pouty lips.' She is constantly talking about herself, even when the conversation has no relation to it. It gets a little annoying after a while. Does she just love herself or is she maybe bragging out of insecurity of these features?
Superb Opinion
They are very insecure. Secure people don't do that. I've worked with some exceptionally smart people and none of them ever said that they were smart. Mostly they were happy to teach others.
Most Helpful Opinions
I'd lean more toward narcissism. Insecure people, as far as I can tell, are more likely to fish for compliments, rather than compliment their self.
Sometimes they are insecure and just saying things to make themselves feel better about themselves
