Why is it considered unmanly if I just want to practice self-love?

I'm just irritated by people who keep saying that I'm so feminine for mentioning self-love and trauma. I really don't get it. Some people equate men practicing self-care to men being a "beta male". Others also say that it's unattractive for women and a red flag for them at the same time. Why would I be considered effeminate just because I need to prioritize my mental health?

After reading your MyTake, I don’t think you’re feminine. It taught me about men’s emotional and physical feelings. I had to resonate with that and compared it with my communication with my brother. He’s the only boy surrounded by women and no male role model. I know he thinks I hurt him at times cause he thinks I’m too bossy. I don’t want to hurt him and take a step back and tell him to communicate with me. So I could understand his emotions better. But he just wants to be left alone to heal. Our communication makes me reflect if I’m relationship material in the future. If I’m capable of emotionally hurting a man 💔❤️‍🩹.

So no, you are not feminine. You’re a good guy going through hardships while still being respectable to others. Don’t ever change no matter what. 🤗💖

You should do what's good for you, don't care what other people think, don't pay it any attention. It's good to focus on your happiness and making yourself better.

And I don't think self-love is girly or egocentrical or anything like that, it's important.

These people are not familiar with therapy work. And they probably should be, for their own sake, and for the people close to them.

Consider making part of your mental health process to get closer to people who don’t invalidate you, your identity, and your basic needs.

Self-love and self-care is not a feminine thing, it's a human thing and everybody needs it.

Emotions are not gendered and love isn't gendered.

Take care of yourself and spread love to the people.

Healing from trauma is one example.

Healing can mean many things.. do you visit a therapist? do you meditate or do yoga? do you go and get massages and facials? do you cry and vent?

I mean what to you do so that people call you these things

I share my feelings and do meditation. I don't really think there's anything wrong with it as a guy.
