A woman got mad at me for holding a door open for her?

I know that most woman are just normal people who wouldn't have responded this way. I see woman on the internet complain about "benevolent sexism" and other dumb thing like manspreading. I never thought I'd actually experience this on real life lol. I'm curious if any other men here have had a similar experience? Maybe it's more common then I think.

Yeah, she's mentally deranged. Those types of women are a small minority (they're probably misandrists). Holding doors open for people, both men and women, is the polite and courteous thing to do. I agree with your update. Don't let one bad apple ruin your view of all women.

I hold door when someone carries something, if they have nothing on them they can open their own door unless they are so close proximity that door would hit them they i hold it for sec or two.

Holding the door is a courtesy I was raised to extend to everyone regardless of age race or gender. People who aren't fully self absorbed know it to be a societal politeness. Maybe she was having a bad day otherwise. You shouldn't stop being courteous unless the make it a criminally prosecutable offense

Hasn’t happened yet, I hold the door for both sexes if they are close by , no one has complained and usually says thanks, not sure where you live

It wasn't even like I saw her coming from a distance and held the door until she went inside (too cold for that) she was behind me, so, I just held it open like I would have for anyone else. She said "I don't need your permission to go inside" 😂
