Why a girl would ask me about my origins?

There is this cute girl in my English class that is never talking to anyone except her friends. After the class, I walked to the cafeteria and sat down. When I was talking to my friends, I felt that she was looking at me. When she saw that I caught her she start to ask for my name and my origins. The next day, I sat closed to her at the table but she was always looking away but when I was preoccupied by something she try to took glances at me but never talked to me that day. Why? ( Im 18 by the way )

Good because last year a shy girl liked me and I scared her so she stopped trying to talk to me and you never saw each other again, that’s why I am scared of doing the same thing to this new girl. I am also pretty awkward and never know what to say.
