I scoffed at her. "i can get my OWN door thank you very much!!!" just kidding. i thanked her and walked through the door.
@Jamesshinobi. I screamed "raaaaape"!!
ha ha ha ha. i should have thought of that
I sometimes do it if they're close enough that letting the door go to their face would be rude. Most people say thank you.
Yeah, once in a while and I always thanked the woman who held the door open for me.
I had a broken leg and yes of course My Girlfriend held the door open for me, that in my mind is acceptable. I was taught to open the door for a lady, if the door were held open for me by my lady, yes, I would feel like an ass.
@Tommy789 why?
This tends to show me that she is a real conservative Christian, and makes me feel very good that there are ladies like that
So if she was a liberal Jewish woman?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! Or a moderate Atheist?
If I later found that out, I'd still feel the same way about her being a nice helpful person
So the conservative Christian part is irrelevant?
@ChooChooHaha No, it's simply a value that Christian people have. And it's something that would naturally pop into my head
Ahahahaha. Ok.
Well if someone holds the door open no matter the gender I thank them and offer to let them go first as a polite sort gesture for them holding the door.
of course!! if I'm walking ahead, I will hold it. if you're ahead of me I'd appreciate it if you'd hold it for me. However, guys... pro tip, run ahead and open the car door- that's romantic and adorable in every way possible
It just means she is being nice. Nothing wrong with that.
They awkwardly say thank you ,& not happy smiling it’s just awkward lol
When anyone has held a door for me I've always thanked them irrespective of their sex.
It's nice, I usually do it for people, but it's nice when someone does it for me.
I do it all the time. Usually don’t get much of a reaction other than Thankyou.
I say thank you as you should for anyone who holds a door for you.
I appreciate if anyone does. My reaction is to say thank you.
My reaction when that happens is to grab the door and say "thank you, after you" to acknowledge her gesture and to allow her to pass before me.
If I enter a building with a door and someone is behind me I hold the door. Irrelevant if guy or girl
Nothing special. I just say thank you.
This act of curtosy is not to be taken as a sign of deeper intrest.
Holding a door for someone is common courtesy to hold the door for someone. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or woman.
I meant to say (It’s common courtesy to hold the door for someone. It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or woman.)
how should i react i said thanks and kept minding my buisness
Same as when anyone else holds it for me, I just say "thank you"
I just say thank you. It doesn't matter who does it, it's a nice gesture.
Never by an attractive woman. Not saying that to offend but just an observation. I do shift work at a plant. Hundreds of people coming and going at the same time. The attractive females never hold the door.
I've usually been the one to do it but I'm sure that has happened multiple times. I would thank her and walk in, as expected.
yeah. they thank me and we move on about our day. who cares?
I just say thanks and walk away. That's all.
I give the same response rather it would be a man, woman or child. “Thank you” with a smile!
I actually did this for the ups guy today lol I held it for like 3 minutes
Women have held the door for me many times. It's always appreciated and I say thank you.
They have done it lots of times and I too. I just say thank you.
Many girls held the door for me and i was thankful to them...
girls have held the door open for me plenty of times, that’s just being a cordial person regardless of gender
Only when his hands are full or carrying something. I didn’t want to leave it with “HANDS ARE FULL” lol sounds like something else Hehe
Guys reaction: it's good manners. Manners are appreciated.
Yeah a few times, nothing unusual. If you're a man, you have to hold it even if she's not close but if you're a woman and a man is literally passing by you, it would also be rude to let it close
no i never noticed that or had any girl do that. only men had opened the door for me
I just say thanks. I don't expect any ulterior motives like romance anymore.
I am certainly not going to have the reaction a woman gets. We are not the same. Let men do the heavy lifting and the tough jobs that ask for manly strength. Women, stay in the kitchen (joke) but not joke?
Nice... but I keep my hand on my wallet as I pass. You can never be too careful. 🤣
Yes a lot of the time. It’s nice and kind behavior.
I flip out like any femenist. I put the bitch back in her place. I tell her I don't need a woman to help me!
It's a surprise and I say thank you
@Staximus but it SHOULDN’T be a surprise.
I just say thanks and move the fuck on. Something women apparently can’t do
That has never happened to me. If it did. I'd just say.. thank you
No, never... I was taught that if I'm out with a group of guys that I should NEVER touch any door except the one to the ladies room.
I do it all the time no matter what gender.
Of course I have. I agree with you.
Probably yes, I just can't remember it.
My reaction? "Thank you"
You should only hold the door for elderly and handicapped people nothing in between.
Yea I do it for anyone
I appreciate it
Oh hell yeah. I love doing that
I don't hold the door open for anyone if there's nothing in their hands.
Smile, say thanks, I appreciate that!
Yes, I've done it plenty of times
Yes, a few elderly men a time or two
open or closed?
Always
Often. Some men get really pissed about it.
@DermalPunch I have never encountered a guy get upset by me holding a door. I have had some act awkward.
I haven't had anyone yell but just being a bit miffed.
I've done it, it's respectful.
