If you wave at a girl and she waves back and smiles but looks away afterward, is that a sign she is just being polite and isn't interested?

I saw her at the cafe at work and ran in real quick to get to the vending machine, and she was facing near my direction, waiting for her food to heat up so on my way back outside, I had to walk passed her so I quickly waved my hand up, and she looked at me and half smiled and quickly waved her hand up and down and looked away quick and still had a slight smile when she looked away. Is that a sign that a person doesn't want you to interact with them? If she were interested, wouldn't she have held eye contact longer? Was that a way of her being nice but letting me no know she's not interested?

Hey can you tell me your thoughts on this? So as I was in the parking lot getting ready to leave. I was waiting for some cars to pass before I pulled out and I was staring at the building waiting and I see her about to pass me and she turned and looked at me for about 2 seconds. She didn't smile but she had a guess sort of a curious look I guess, I was caught off guard so I didn't really do anything but stare back, and then she looked away and then I looked away. Can you tell me what you think that was about?

Wouldn't hurt to try. I knew a girl similar who would smile at me and wave to get my attention but I never asked her out or approached her.

If you can not tell this from what you wrote, I do not know what to tell you. The longer you wait the more likely she gets pissed by your inaction and says NOPE !!
