How do you keep a girl’s interest over text?

Here’s this predicament I have. I’m a very confident guy, I got no problem talking to women, I succeed more often than I fail in getting a number. When rejected I take it on the chin and keep it pushing. I got no problem having a woman interested in me in person… but over texting…. much different story.

I personally don’t like texting girls in all honesty, because I treat it like an in person conversation. I get irritated when left on open, because if you can read my message you can at least say. “Hey, I’m busy, let me talk to you later.” I always do. If I think I can’t reply I don’t even open the message. So I will text again with a question mark. Taking days to reply irritates me too. I got no problem with a girl being busy, she got her own personal life, but it doesn’t take that long.

I try to get out of texting and get to a date or hangout ASAP to not give her time to lose interest but girls find that weird, so I’m stuck in the texting stage.

And then there’ll be girls that are great to text then randomly block me with no warning, and I’m stuck wondering why, because I don’t say no weird or sexual type shit that would be a red flag.

So, In Trance decided to block me after leaving a comment so I couldn’t reply. A pretty pussy act in all honesty. I admit, I’m not very successful in relationships. Getting a girl’s number is easy enough. Committing enough time to a stranger in an attempt to make them look bad is honestly pathetic. There are much better uses for your time.

I think we are a lot alike on this. I'm kind of old school, so I much prefer talking to women face to face than texting, especially if it's about trying to date or whatever. And for some of the reasons you noted as well. When I get a woman's number, I feel like I have to text things just to keep her interested, like it's some kind of game or something, and then even I lose interest. In person I am much more relaxed, wittier, and confident when speaking to women in person.

It's also one of the reasons why online dating doesn't work for me either. I feel like as a guy I have to pass some kind of skills test by coming up with the absolute most valuable, most interesting message just to get a response from a woman I really don't even know and have never met, something she will deem as worthy enough to reply to. Just not cool for me.
