Why did my bestie get silent when I turn her question around to her?

Yesterday me and my bestie, Shelby, got into an argument mainly I started it because I didn't want to hang out with her after she ditched me for someone else but she literally told me THAT SHE WOULD NEVERRR!!! I felt heartbroken and betrayed but I was being selfish... I want to apologize to her tomorrow once I think but today i want to someone to explain why she did this:

Me: "I don't want to hang out with you right now... I don't want to get clingy to you..."

Then she said, "then unfriend me if you don't want to get clingy!!"

I didn't want to unfriend her since I kind of... have a crush on her... so I said

Me: "since you mentioned that, why don't you unfriend me first?"

She got silent when I said that so I decided to keep quiet too. Why did she got silent all of sudden?

Please help!

Note: we are both online friends and both females. I'm not sure she's into girls. But she really do like to hang out with me, she always invite me to hang out with her.

Without knowing them be hard to answer, also as its online maybe something just got in the way?
Also possible she did not even really meant it, and had no reply when you said it, or just did not want to reply to that

Anyway dont let being jelly get in your friendship ways, if you get to that may be better to just tear off the bandge and see if there is anything beoynd at all
Anyway its really really hard to give any real advise without knowing her, you, your relashinship, how long, and so on to answer this

I would have not idea except to say it seems like two women having a disagreement. You guys do it differently with your games. We guys speak to one another straightforwardly or fight over it and then it is mostly done. Women do not do that and we don't get it.
