Girls, Were they serious or joking about being mad?

Me and this girl got into a fight because she said she was mad at me and wouldn't tell me why. This got me upset because she would say it was bc I didn't tell her I was in town bc I was going to a buddies house and then said she wasn't mad about that. After awhile of her refusing to tell me I quit even trying to talk to her and messaged a couple hrs later and she said she was joking about it all and she was sorry about it. My thing is I was upset and I don't understand why she was joking just trying to get me upset. I don't think she was joking and I've stopped talking to her, but is this common that a girl would just start a fight as a joke. I've never had this happen it wasn't like a fight over something small it was just literally anything and she would say she wasn't upset with what she said. So is this common and could I ask some opinions of why she would do it or if I'm right in thinking she's upset

You've got the answer bro. She's mad at you bcs you didn't tell her that you're in town not bcs you're going to your buddies house. But she expect you to say sorry about it and calm her down. But what she got is you mad at her back by ignoring her. So she had no choices by saying it was a joke with hope to finished the argument and getting back to it was bcs she cannot stand the ignorance and missing you. She's just let her ego down just to be with you. That's just my opinion

Girl just want you to understand about their existence. Don't underestimate small things. Bcs small things is way more important for girls in mentally to understand the importance of them for you
