Why would a girl choose a guy who is a slob over someone who is well put together?

This girl I like ended up choosing another dude over me. He is constantly getting drunk and throwing up all the time. He recently got pulled over for a DUI and he is incredibly dumb. But I on the other hand am smart, eat healthy, exercise, read a lot of books, college graduated and make lots of money. I am obviously better than him in terms of what I bring to the table. I am so confused. I thought women were supposed to be attracted to the guy that is the best option. Pls help me understand why this is happening. Thanks.

I mean yeah she drinks too but not a lot. The thing is she still gives me puppy dog eyes everytime she sees me.
