Is my neighbor flirting with me?

Hey!
So, this might be a bit confusing? just let me know if you have questions.

I moved in this apartment complex less than a year ago, and have never really spoken to any of my neighbors. Most people just mind their business like in normal life, and I don't really know any of their names.
One of my neighbors lives a complex over, and will occasionally wave at me if she sees me. Sometimes I might be walking around town, and she will give me a huge smile and wave at me while she is driving by.
Recently, I walked about 20 feet away from her, and she was putting luggage in her vehicle. She called me over and started asking me lots of questions.
She asked me where I went when I walked, if I tracked it, highlighted that she walked with people as well, and asked other questions like how long I had lived at the apartment. the conversation was all over the place, and very short. She talked about a recent concert, a vacation she was about to take

Even joked that if I saw someone trying to get into her apartment, that I should beat their ass... It was really hard to follow, and all of it happened over a perhaps 3 to 5 minute period. Then She told me to be careful while I walked, and not to "die" because of the heat.

Then not maybe 20 minutes later, I saw her again, this time she was driving her jeep in an alleyway behind two businesses (one of them I think she works at, but it was closed that day).

She immediately rolled down her window when she saw me and jokingly said "Get out of the waaay!" and started laughing. Telling me she was just saying goodbye to everyone before her vacation, and waiting on someone to show up. She started asking me more questions, like my music taste, among many other things.

Just felt very out of the blue, and she did probably 90%+ of teh talking
Just felt very nice, and like she really wanted to get to know things about me. Something I am not used to doing.

So, is that normal?

is she flirting with me? or just being nice?

Seems like most I have talked with say she is just being friendly, and not flirting.
Oh well, back to the lonely single life I guess.

I decided, she is probably just being nice...
There is no point is talking or approaching her.. So, I am moving on. ..

To me it sounds like she's a huge extrovert and probably talks like that to many people.

Introverts can see this as flirting when they encounter it in real life.

I say she might be flirting, but if she is it's just 'for fun' as some people say. In my subjective opinion that is not nice, as it might give others the wrong impression, but some people think of flirting as just talking and don't really consider other's feelings when they do it - they do it without thinking and they're just being themselves.

Unfair, I know, but very common.

at the apartments, just me.
However, she does have friends around town, and she appears to be quite extroverted in that way.
So, I know she hangouts with people, gets around town and chats with them. etc.
But in terms of the apartment, I am the only one receiving this sort of treatment.

She could be flirting, although I've encountered women exactly like you describe and they're really just very talkative and a bit loopy because there's no one else for them to talk to if they're lonely, and I'm assuming she's older than you, correct? Some older women get like this around young guys they find to be attractive. She could also be on medication. Kind of hard to say.

She is a few years older, but seems quite sociable with others. From what I know, she works at the bar, and has several friends in town.

I think she's trying to be friendly or extroverted by nature.

This is how everyone around me often acts on first meeting when they want to be friends even opposite sex, they make jokes and talk about recent little events to try being closer.

Either she's a slightly anxious person by nature or she's simply lively, changing topics casually or because she doesn't want the conversation to be boring and this is a normal thing.

She may be very extroverted and social with people... to investigate further check how she interacts with everyone... if she is only like that with you then check how "flirty" is the content of what she is saying or what else she does... if it seems to be quite flirty then I guess she may like you.

Honestly, she sounds creepy. Why joking about you dieing because of the heat? Why asking where did you go? Why asking for how long have you been living in the apartment?

It's too much. It doesn't seem to me that she was flirting.

Hmm, so then just being too aggressive?
I think, its because
1. We had a heat wave, and I often take walks around town (its a small town).
2. The Apartment complex is relatively empty, maybe half of the units are full at most.
3. Sometimes in the morning before I would leave for work, we would be leaving (or she would be returning) at the same time

But I suppose you could be right

To me it sounds flirty and like she wants to get to know you. Nice is an obligatory, ' hello" or "how are you?" when passing by on the street - what you describe goes above and beyond. 🙂 Hope it all works out for you!

Sounds like she's just being very friendly. I have a lot of people around my neighborhood like that. If you were to feel interest back, keep contact with her. Sometimes friendly stuff turns into something more with time

Thats a tough one. She could be extrovert and friendly and also trying to hit in you.

Test it with a bottle of wine in the evening. If she is into you, the wine will losing up her tounge

To me just sounds like an extrovert maybe pay attention to your surroundings see if she does that to everybody else or if it's just you if you really want to find out and want to know more about her invite her on one of your walks
