Why do (young) women often text like they don‘t want to text, but keep on texting back?

So I‘ve often had this thing where I would chat with a girl (around my age) and she would keep texting like she doesn‘t care, but keeps texting back. I basically have to carry the whole conversation and often get replies, where it‘s hard to continue, so you would have to keep asking questions. She asks some about me too, but she would never go out of her way to text me first or try to continue the conversation. Also, the conversation could go on for hours without her directly trying to end it.

I understand, that she might not be interested, but usually if they really don‘t want to text, they tend to not ask any questions back and only reply with short answers. That‘s how I did it too whenever I wasn‘t interested or I just tell them straight up.

Some people feel it necessary to respond and have the last word or make you the one to stop first. I've noticed this with friends. If I stop then they stop. They just feel it necessary whether out of courtesy or whatever to always respond. That is the most likely thing that is happening in my opinion. Another possibility is she is just plain bored and wants something to do so she'll make pointless small chat for the reason of being bored. I bet if you stop she would though.

But then why would you even text back in the first place? Especially since there was this one girl recently where I just followed her on IG, because I found her comments on some news account really funny. We are literally complete strangers and many guys follow her. I'm not interested in dating her, I usually comment on other people's stories a lot and I was bored, so I thought "why not try to talk to her for a bit?". But yeah, I've had this too with girls I knew.

Honestly she sounds like a psycho. maybe narcissistic maybe some type of personality disorder maybe just bored maybe on heroin I don't know. could be anything. Or just stop talking to her. bc why do you respond if you sense she isn't interested? Lol 🤦🏽‍♀️ just think if you are attempting to get into bed with her.. how fun do you actually think it will be if her other interactions have gone this pleasantly

Sounds like she's is trying to be nice answering your questions. A conversation should flow naturally but if you need to keep asking the questions, I think it's time to stop.
