Do women really want men to be more like women?

I've seen and heard that women want men to be more like women. I'm not saying wearing "girly" clothing, but, I mean like, being more artistic instead of sporty, more emotional, etc..

If this is true, then why won't women start to be more like men, when we want them to be?

No they do not at all. But women want (and sometimes very unfairly expect) men to understand them and judge situations the same way they do. But they definitely don’t want me to be like them especially in romantically situations (with very raw exceptions)

I will never expect women to fully comprehend men. I’ve heard it said in the past that “women understand men better than men understand women”. However the older I get the more I now believe that is longer believe that. At all. From my observations women only care about understanding men if there is something in it for them.

I guess that could be theoretically fair if expectations were applied equally on both sides. However in recent times more and more women are demanding that men understand them regardless if there is something in it for the man or not. They demand to be special just for existing.

It’s like how women expect men not be emotionally upset (not saying violent/threatening but just upset) when they break up or reject them just because they don’t want to “feel guilty”. Many guys will keep their cool out of pride in these scenarios. To act like it doesn’t bother them (which can sometimes be effective strategy to make some women reconsider later).

However in that scenario the woman no longer has anything to offer the man at all so why is he expected to give a sh*t about her “guilty feelings”? He shouldn’t be but there is societal pressure there despite the fact she's now worthless to him.

Same vice versa but women have a lot more leeway to get upset and not care if the man feels bad/guilty if he rejects/breaks up with a woman.

No they don't.. Most women still like masculine man in some shape and form.. It's the loud minority of weird women who are trying to speak for the average woman and demonize masculinity in men while uplifting it in women or "others".. It's just a power play..

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘be more like women’, but I do know that there are girls out there who would prefer it if guys didn’t care so much about if another guy thought what their doing isn’t manly. Obviously this isn’t every girl and every guy, but they’re out there for sure. I am in fact one of those girls who wishes guys I knew weren’t as concerned with what other guys think about them, but if they just do things they like doing and those things happen to be more what society considers manly, so be it. Being artistic isn’t a feminine trait - I know there will be men out there who will disagree with me, but it’s not - it just means that you’ve learned to express yourself in an artistic fashion. There’s nothing womanly or manly about being artistic, that’s the beauty of art. Art is confined to no specification. There’s no right or wrong way of making art, just like there’s no part of art that’s womanly or manly.

Yeah that still doesn’t make sense or give any clues as to what you’re talking about unless you’re talking about the stereotypical gender norms, but most girls I know aren’t like that. In fact, most girls I know would rather play a sport or something that would be considered manly by stereotypical gender norms than what the stereotypical gender norms consider as womanly. Besides that, ‘act like them’ is too broad of a term and leaves what women act like up to interpretation.

If you just say “act like them”, that could mean absolutely anything because women don’t act a certain way. When you say “act like them”, it could mean anything from rolling and wrestling in the mud with your friends to sitting and reading a book.

There are men who are raised in homes with no male role model. Maybe a single mother with sisters and an absent father, for whatever reason. But that gave them a better understanding on how to socialize with woman.

I think women are looking to “connect” with men more so we want them to be more emotional and into the things we like, etc. But I see your point. Do I just want a woman in a man’s body? Women started saying that shit as far back as the 1980s. If not earlier. I'm old enough to remember. A whole generation of young men complied and then SURPRISE it turned out women weren't attracted to guys who were emotional and in touch with their feelings and in every way more feminine.

Some might like that, but generally you should just focus on the girls you find attractive, ignore what anyone (including them!) says and just watch and observe what they ACTUALLY respond to. Are they attracted to and dating manly men? Are they attracted to and dating soy boys? What is it that has the greatest chance of success? That's what you want to emulate.

In a healthy relationship men and women compliment each other. Of course there is plenty of misunderstanding and friction because we think differently. But there are also major benefits of thinking differently.
