Should female coaches only train females?

A long time ago I unfortunately ended up in prison and they started an aerobics class for inmates and the instructor was a black female, I've forgotten her name but she was a really nice person and good at her job and brave too teaching aerobics in a prison, anyway I got the impression that the men were only there to look at her and talk the usual innuendo filled nonsense, like the type that makes you cringe, god I sound like a right prude don't I, well to other lads I do and on occasion they've accused me of being gay for not joining in there intimidating and uncomfortable nonsense, anyway I'm rambling a bit but what I will say is this, most men have proven they can't be trusted to behave when in the company of women haven't they so if I was you I'd stick to women as you know somewhere down the line the men are going to cause extreme embarrassment with their unwanted sexual and misogynistic conversations which actually makes me feel bad for being male and knowing that women who don't know me will take the default position that I'm probably a crude immature arsehole too which I'm not. Anyhows be safe and stick to coaching women. Louis.
Congratulations, firstly. I encountered three different female instructors (to not call them coach) in gyms. Quite frankly, they were all useless. They were more the type of a Zumba aerobics lead dancer. One used every opportunity to show me her (admittedly, perfect) butt. 🙄😬 They knew little to nothing about the machines and which training should be recommended for me. Slightly related - however, when I went to physical therapy for my back problems, I had a female medical therapist and she was a really good professional.
I think that females tend to prefer being coached by a woman since it’s easier to understand how our cycles work and how we can adjust our trainings to our cycles to get better results. The male body works very differently from the female body and being coached by a man and doing all these workouts that are usually common may not give you the same results that they would be given if a female coach worked with you according to the cycle.
But I guess it all comes down to preference. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a female coaching men just like there’s nothing wrong with male coaches training, females.
I've never been a coach, but I've taugt piano and voice before. I know it's not the same thing, but I taught all genders. More money for me lol.
I use to go to a Women's only gym called curves. If you want to coach only women you can go there.

Congratulations on becoming a coach! 🎉 Whether you train men is entirely your choice. Many female coaches successfully train male clients professionally, and most guys respect boundaries and focus on their goals. If you’re concerned, set clear expectations from the start, trust your instincts, and remember—you have the right to choose who you work with. Many men actually appreciate female coaches for their expertise, motivation, and different coaching style. You’ve got this! 💪✨
Can I join lol jk well that is completely up to you. I think it would be good if you worked w both men and women, but I get what you’re saying. So whatever makes you more comfortable you should go w that. I honestly think if you could help men lose weight that would be even better for your business. People tend to think women can’t help men or men can’t help women because we go through different life experiences as a male vs a female or our bodies are different. So if I as a man could see that you helped a man lose X amount of lbs who worked w a male trainer before that didn’t work, I’d be more likely to sign up w you as well. Plus if I’m being honest, a lot of people, especially men tend to want to lose weight cause they want to meet a girl. So having a coach who is not only in shape but gorgeous as well may help them keep on track. But I get what you mean about the creep part.
I think that female coaches can easily coach men and why not. I can see the worry that maybe some men would stare and I wonder if this could be solved by having two female coaches per session as men tend to behave when more than one woman is present. I think that we are reaching a point soon when women will not have barriers and this sort of thing will be open to them as much as to anyone so I say yes it would work. Men need re educating really because they have spent so long in the driving seat but I think quite a few men arre getting it. Women can do exactly what they want and are no different to men and it is time that we gave them the breaks. If you want to caoh men go for it, just make sure that you lay down the rules if they need to be laid down. Good luck.
For weight workouts especially, there's no reason you couldn't train men. Now I'm definitely not an athlete, but all of my physical therapy training (that has included weight lifting) for my work injury has been lead by a female sports injury therapist, and I've found her instruction to be very helpful, even as I am getting closer to finishing therapy and am now lifting more than she can.
I wouldn't pick you as a coach. I would rather have a man. Just personal experience. Men tell it as it is, they also have a better approach to encouragement than woman do. So my suggestion is you can win or lose with both genders based on their own experiences. So why limit yourself further.
Is there a problem with male coaches training females? Then there shouldn't be a problem with females training men.
If you limit yourself to only training females, you're eliminating half of your possible customers.
Let's face it. Guys will look at you, but they're really interested in the workout.
Yeah I have had a female pilates coach. No real difference. A guy might be very conscious you are female at first as nobody can be unconscious of gender but I can't see that lasting more than a couple of sessions.
It is a bit weird to have a mom coaching a football team when she has never played football. That is the only restriction I would place.
Congratulations.
Of course you should offer to train guys. If they're paying you and since more guys go to the gym than girls so you'd be missing out on potential customers BUT some guys would prefer to have a male coach to train them in the gym. Girls are more likely to ask for help from another girl so there's that.
That totally depends on you and your mindset.
I still have a female wrestling and workout coach and we are really good friends now. We never had any other feelings, and she's totally comfortable with me.
Because in wrestling, things can get really close. It's totally on your thinking about that. Totally on your mind.
Congratulations! I wish you success and happiness in your new endeavor. Just make it clear you're not going to tolerate clients that are not serious. I think a lot of women would like having a woman trainer. It would probably make them more comfortable and you can inspire them with your big muscles 💪
I think if you've qualified you've qualified. Congratulations! I think you will make an excellent coach. You're dedicated. Passionate and professional about your discipline. I think you should be able to train anyone who is serious about working out. If you have the choice of picking your students or saying no to someone you are not comfortable with you should do it. But ideally, anyone should be able to train with you. I wish you the best and congratulations again.
Congratulations... Viola 🥳🥳🥳
Yeah you should train men too, some of them will definitely gonna stare at you like creeps cuz you are so beautiful but you know kow to deal with these guys.
All the best for everything you are gonna do👍👍👍
Nope. If i felt there is a female coach who is highly qualified and i know i can trust her to help me achieve my goals, i would pursue that option. And i would keep it strictly professional. Because im here for the coaching being offered and she is there to do her job. That element of respect has to be there.
Congratulations! Now get ready for the asshole pile-on, saying you can't coach for whatever reason that they can think of. So please hang on, there is no reason why you can't coach women or men! If you are good, you are good whether you are female or male
Most guys who are going for professional services are able to remain professional for the time. I went to physical therapy to learn how to stretch and increase my strength the best. My PT was female, and I felt nothing regarding her looks. She wasn't ugly either.
Depends on the person. Not all men are creeps but obviously there are some out there the same as there are weird women out and about.
Your pick you can stick to women only or open it up to women as well.
I pretty much see every woman that I'm attracted to as a potential girlfriend. I would turn the training sessions into my chance to talk to her, rather than just exercising. That's just the truth about me.
I have had female trainers, but not with weights. I much prefer it this way, though a female turned me down, when I innocently asked her to go for a meal together, because we had both not eaten.
I will excuse myself from this question because I would be one of those guys who just stares at you…. I don’t think I am a creep but I do know you are HOT!!
I think you could train women and men, and kick a man out of your class if he is being creepy. Since you are a coach now you should have the authority to.
Congratulations!
If men can get passed the sexist thing and passed the possibility of attraction, then they shouldn't mind giving you a shot.
I think you are missing your calling as a florist.
For one thing, it seems like they wouldn’t respect you as much and like they’d automatically assume that you are weaker than them.
So you are saying you don’t mind having females’ state at you and check you out? Not every girl is straight lol
It varies by sport. I think Kaitlyn Clark was coached by men. It is why she has The Iron. It wouldn't shock me is Serina Williams was coached by (OMG!) WHITE MEN. She definitely has The Iron.
If you want to only train women, open a women-only gym
I don’t think I could have you train me without me catching feelings.
I guess women would feel more comfortable with a female coach. Most men would, also, but much of that may be sexism more than being comfortable with your own sex because of historic and gender reasons.
You're an attractive woman that likes to show off her body.. Yes, you should probably stick to training women..
@User3828 Huh?
@User3828 Oh... Okay..
Nope, should work with men theoretically possible. 😂
If you knew what you were doing I would be happy to let you coach me.
If you want to only train women then that is completely your right to make that decision. Your reason is also valid.
I think I could work with a female trainer, if she is attractive may motivate me more to actually workout tho. Lol
I think it's best for females to train other females, and males to train males. Unless you are in a romantic relationship with your trainer.
does sex matter or does competence matter? if sex matters, you're a sexist. it's really that simple.
News flash: if you're training women in a gym with men and women, the men are already staring at you.
Never but you know thats its perfectly acceptable for male coaches to have female clients that only want to stare or fuck him!!
No. You'd end up just training his glutes and legs.
I know that's right
Way to go girl, congratulations! I think it’s more fun to just teach girls 💃💯
It may be hard for your male students. It can be hard to focus on training if you have such an attractive teacher 😊
if you want to - sure - I don't see anything wrong or inappropriate about it at all
No. Just refuse to work with guys who make you feel uncomfortable.
in your industry, they trained men and women
But for me, I prefer men because I’m a competitor from the past playing sports and you get more intensity with men. Women are more for like flirting and smiling and chit chat light workouts for me. I don’t go to a gym anyway to flirt with the woman I go there to trans seriously, I don’t mix the business like that.
Claims she doesn’t want creepy guys staring at her.
*Proceeds to post a thirst trap picture of herself online*
This pic is what made me wonder if you are from Germany
You promised to trample me barefoot but never did, all talk
I would want a hot woman like you as a coach. But I am not a creep. Women generally like me.
That's completely your decision. by the way congratulations 🎊
Yes you can train men also. Why not.
You mean like a personal trainer?
I think you can train both genders.
Don’t limit your potential to help others.
Yeah, you’re too pretty not to be stared at
Coaches train both sex.
The hell nooooo
No, better not train men
No, they should train men too.
no if they are a coach let them do both
