1 yBeing in the locker room is extremely strange for a male coach. I really don't think there's any reason they should be in the locker room with girls. My females teachers never came into the locker room with us when we were younger. Like wtf. I'm usually not for leftist nonsense or propaganda, but your coach should not be in the women's locker room. If I was a girl, I'd understand the discomfort with him being in the locker room.
There's no issue with a male assistant as long as they're not being touchy, or making any suspicious sexual touches.30 Reply

1 yYes the should but certain thing should be off limits for him

Do you feel uncomfortable with him there
- 1 y
I am no longer one of his players but I never felt uncomfortable around coach. He was awesome, always positive and taught us a lot
- 1 y
So why do you think suddenly they have a problem with it. Maybe you can go and talk to them on his behalf
- 1 y
I have been asked by Coach to speak at the school board meeting on his behalf.
I've heard the issue is the Freshman girls' parents. - 1 y
So are you gonna do it?
- 1 y
For sure!!
- 1 y
Proud of you for doing that. Many parents forget the problems and limitations of high schools. 👊🏻

1 yWhen I played soccer as a pre-teen, we had a male coach. And he came in before and/or after games (I really don't remember when). But it wasn't an isse. He didn't linger, and was professional. And we weren't changing when he was there. Everybody was fully clothed - maybe only lacking shoes.

That is my experience
1 yOf course they can. For gods sake most men are not predators. What about lesbians? Ban them too? I would make some limits like no males during changing or just before or after a competition... but thats common sense.
23 Reply- 1 y
When i played for him, he would be in the locker room for pre & post game meetings. We would never change when he was in there.
- 1 y
Did you feel safe around him? If yes then there should be no problem.
- 1 y
We all felt safe around him because there was nothing happening

It's fine but I female coaches for girls would probably be better.
Who the hell is voting C and D? Even if the girls were adults it would be weird to have a man in the locker room, but seeing the OP's age I'm guessing this was high school. How is it appropriate for a man to be inside an underage (for the most part) girls' locker room?
21 Reply- 1 y
He would come in for Pre & Post game meetings and we would always be dressed in our uniforms. We all always felt comfortable
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yI think at the high-school level it should be like gender. Unless funding demands otherwise. I mean we're talking high-school athletics. It's about the fundamentals more than championships.
Don't allow the men in the locker room for ANY reason. Problem solved.
But as far as the girls being uncomfortable it doesn't have to be a man. I remember when I was in school when we used our schools pool in gym we had a female gym teacher that caught heat for making all the girls line up in the locker room and take thier school issued swimsuits off because she was worried about them stealing them. She in the tradition of gym teacher women was very Man-ish.😆 And the collective of girls felt she was doing to get a good view. Needless to see the schoolboard ended this gym teacher's practice of that.
20 Reply312 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. yea, there's no problem with that. also had loads of male coaches. usually if they work with underage people they are given background checks to see if they aren't on the sex offender registry anyways. so it should be fine
11 Reply- 1 y
Agreed!!
Personally I don't see a difference and I don't mind the coach to be male or female as long as the job is done.
If so I even let a male friend to be a coach to guide me.
I have this really close good friend on GaG who is similar to a coach where he guides me and explain tons of things to me which is really helpful because it makes me understand a lot, so yeah it's not a problem to me.

Anonymous(25-29)1 yJust because someone’s a predator doesn’t mean they would act on it, so no he shouldn’t be in the locker rooms whatsoever.
And if the girls feel comfortable, even if it’s for something that is completely based on their own personal beliefs, it should be respected. If I was a coach for a male team I wouldn’t be in a male locker room so it should 110% be the same.20 ReplyI had a male coach in school, he didn't come in the locker room but just being a coach that's fine

Ours would come in for Pre & Post game talks. We would all be in our uniforms
My daughter played hockey with boys untill almost 15yrs old.. she had always men's coaches.. there was a room for herself to dress up and came in the room after she got dresses up.. i dont think the coach never saw her halfnaked.. but often she did saw other teammates coming in late and dressing up while she was around..

1 yIf you ban men you also have to ban bisexual women and lesbians because they could be sexually attracted to the high school girls also. That's obviously not a solution.
The solution is for no adults, male or female, to have access to places where the girls on the team are naked. It's a simple solution.

1 yI use to give Self Defence Classes exclusively for women for just over 2 years, and there were never any complaints. (Not about me being a guy anyway)
Apparently I was teaching them how to be too brutal, and on the one occasion a woman needed to defend herself, she almost killed him. But that's a different matter.
01 ReplySorry.. Yes is my answer! but certainly not in the locker rooms!
1 yMy name coaches only ever went in the locker rooms when nobody was changing

1 yHS teacher here. In many schools its unavoidable. If you want privacy for strategy, pep talks, etc between halves its the ONLY place.
That said its generally policy to have door open or female security in room and for male coach to encroach as little as possible into room and as far from bathroom/shower parts as possible.
What made girls uncomfortable?
00 Reply 6K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. it doesn’t matter in sports as long as they don’t come in the lock room and see you naked
22 Reply- 1 y
Agree completely about the being seen naked part.
I feel like it should really be the players decision on the Locker room since they need to be comfortable with it

1 yI feel that most girl sports she really only have female coaches but if there is a male assistant the meeting should be in the gym or a classroom. I honestly male and female spots should be coached and played by the same gender. I kinda don’t think a woman should play or coach football.
01 Reply- 1 y
Finding female coaches is VERY difficult and school won't pay more just to attract women.
It should be fine to have a male coach but he should not be in the locker room when the girls are changing
12 Reply- 1 y
He never was, we sent a girl to get him for pre game meetings and then he would just follow us in for post game meetings
- 1 y
Yhere is no where ekse and its when theyre in uniform only.
There's zero reason for a man to be in a girls' locker room, irrespective of his job. If you need a team meeting then have it somewhere nobody may need to be changing. Ever.
14 Reply- 1 y
Do... do they not have janitors where you come from?
- 1 y
There IS NO where else. Thats the crux
- 1 y
Janitors in every establishment I've been in close the changing area while they're working. It takes maybe ten minutes maximum to mop a floor.
I've also never seen any structure with absolutely nowhere other than the changing areas where team meetings can take place. Not a school or university that I've ever been to has ever not had any room available for a team to be able to meet up. - 1 y
Then you've never been in a HS after hours. If they're in ALWAYS in uniform im struggling to see the concern.
- 2.7K opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic.
u 1 yAre girls normally getting dressed or undressed during team meetings? What is it about the guy being there for team meetings that causes concern?
01 Reply- 1 y
Parents are just concerned about him being in the locker room I guess. It isn't any of the girls
1 yIf the hysteria over proximity to testicles has gotten THAT bad, then a little exposure therapy (to the proximity, I mean; I'm not suggesting everyone be naked) is exactly what they need.

1 yA bit weird if they've changed their minds without him having done anything and if it's always worked until now. I mean I presume they haven't been naked whilst he's in the locker room so what, is it current trends?
12 Reply- 1 y
I wish I knew. He was always awesome with us.
- 1 y
Well I suppose there's always a risk. Many a pervert have abused their positions thusly. So it might on the general be safer to categorize according to gender. Actually, that's how it is here in Sweden. Males no matter their role do not enter girls' locker rooms and vice versa.
Anonymous(25-29)1 yonly if that means no female coaches for boys

Not to talk strategy, plans, pep talk, calling players out, captains meetings, etc. Locker room is only choice in 99% of schools
