In cities and countries where women can go topless, how often do you see it?

Question

It's legal in my city, and I can count on one hand how many times I've seen another girl topless

strateguy632 · Accepted Answer

In New York City allowed, but i never saw any lady rely on this even in hot sunny summers! Here this became a big deal in 2005 in New York City, a gal got arrested for walking along a street without wearing a shirt. She sued the city for violating a New York State Supreme Court ruling in Santorelli's case which had declared that women can go topless in public. The city finally paid $29,000 to settle" but gals all wear shirts or crop tops even here. I never saw topless. I distinguished topless from nude. To me bikini top does not make any sense, but gals like to cover.

Google search topless, thinks i mean nude but different. nude is always lewd, California law "nude allowed except lewd" is insanity!

In my state it is considered to be illegal unless you are where nudity is not going to offend others, such as at a river that is isolated and others are not expected to be there. Also, there are some river beaches that are posted that it is completely legal. And if nudity is part of a protest it is considered legal, the annual Naked Bike Ride that protests cars fouling the air with gas fumes and drivers crowding bike riders off the streets. My city is known to have many thousands of naked riders each year.

So far, only Amsterdam, a few other cities of the Netherlands, some small beach communities in Portugal & Spain are the places in Europe where I occasionally spotted several naked men & women.

While in the Netherlands, we even joined large group of nudists ride bicycles around completely naked.

Meanwhile, the American state of California has several beaches where the "clothing optional" practice is exercised.

My favorite is called Pirates Cove.

I don’t know of any city that allows nudity, but there are plenty of beaches and nudists resorts that you can go topless, even entirely naked. All over the United States 🇺🇸 and other countries too

Screenwriter · Answer

Only places I've ever seen it is at a "nude" beach where the word was out that it's a nude beach. People knew about it and were respectful of people wanting to be naked to swim and hang out and that was about it. There are more such beaches in Europe where they have been designated "legal."

But in the U. S. I'm unsure that there are even "legal" nude beaches. Maybe at resorts that own stretches of beaches. I've only seen it once, long ago and have never been at a resort or Euro beach where this was deemed legal.

RandomGirl42 · Answer

This is funny, I wasn't sure of the law in my state but yes, it is legal to go topless. I have never seen it except a couple times with women from Canada but in an isolated area on a beach with few people and no one really thought twice about it. 🤷‍♀️

Prolly the rest of the time it's just too damn cold.

purplepoppy · Answer

Virtually never here, most people don't even realise it's legal and those who do don't want to upset anyone who's sensitive. Even on the nudist beaches people tend to tuck themselves away in a quiet spot.

DryGermanGuy · Answer

I can speak for German, French, Italian, Spanish and Greek beaches, lakes and city tanning lawns - there are always some girls topless. In some areas maybe up to 20% of the women. The completely nude beaches are additional to that, of course.

Anonymous · Answer

I only do it at the beach even if it's legal to walk around town, except in Bali, everyone's topless or naked there at the hotels and walking around so I did too, except in restaurants I didn't.

AviatorTom · Answer

Court cases several years ago make it legal in the US for a woman to bare her breasts, unless it's for prurient interests. Most people don't even know this, but women almost never go topless. The only time I've seen topless women is on the news, during a protest, or occasionally when a mother is breastfeeding her child.

Friendlybro79 · Answer

In NYC you might see very sheer tops with no bra but I think I've seen a topless woman two or 3 times and it was during some parade or something so very rare. At a beach where you would think it would be more likely, I think one time.

Telekinetic-Potato · Answer

I see it in nyc sometimes but 70% of the time it's either crazy people or some kind of function going on. My Irish cousin came to visit a couple days after they legalized nudity in NYC and her boyfriend made this big smile and my cousin turned to me and I was like oh yea, I forgot about that 😂

soe11 · Answer

I see T many reasons in western and eastern European countries aa well as eastern Asian countries. Especially on resorts, beaches and parks. My girlfriend and her mum get topless T public beaches and swimming pools as well as at own backyard and poolside topless dancing party. It's a pretty much common.

katiesmuff · Answer

In several areas of the US nudists hold running or bike marathons on public streets ever so often. Then there are things like Fantasy Fest in Key West every year, Mardi Gras in New Orleans where nudity and lots of titties out are common.

msc545 · Answer

I used to see it frequently, particularly in the summer time. To be quite honest, after about five minutes, you forget about it. No matter what you're seeing, it just isn't that important, and it certainly is not a turn-on.

Tarifa · Answer

At the beaches in Spain, Portugal and France, it's quite common. But it is restricted to those settings only.

DishLady · Answer

V rarely, tbh. OR they’re “nearly topless” with something super sheer so they feel as if they’re still “covered” in some respect.

glennos89 · Answer

I never see woman topless outside but in my country we have designated areas where people are allowed to go naked. I think they can been seen there but I never visited a nude beach

ohsheeT · Answer

In my city, it's against the law. I think that you go to a booby bar i guess it is legal indoors LO. L. But I don't think it's like what you're talking about

Iron_Man · Answer

I don’t see it anywhere except for a cruise ship when they have the upper deck for topless Or Hoover Beach is a nude beach, but I don’t go there because of it

FenixG45 · Answer

Its been legal in my city for at least 35 years. In reality, I can honestly say that I have seen topless women on the street maybe 5 times!

Sevenpointfive · Answer

if it's allowed then there's at least one person doing it. if it's not allowed, they are doing it sneakily.

mysteriousNicholas · Answer

Never seen it here in my lifetime in public beaches or public outings 👀 and I'm 31 heading on 32.

Jersey2 · Answer

No, never. Even in progressive cities like NYC. Compounding that, I very rarely see women braless. Its a bit disappointing at times.

LiamS95 · Answer

When it was first made legal we saw quite a bit of it, especially at the beaches but now it would be a very rare thing to see.

Anonymous · Answer

I go to a nude beach in my state once a month. On weekends I go to a clothing optional resort close to my house.

curiousandhonest · Answer

I've seen only a few boobies in England and they are on beaches but its not really common here.

Wiredone · Answer

I have never seen a woman walking around top less in the streets. I've only seen it on the nude beaches

nawtee_me · Answer

It is not legal where I am at but I wish it was. I think girls should have that right if they choose to do it. Guys do….

shortster · Answer

It is legal for women to be topless in Missouri and I almost never see it happen hear.

dougeats · Answer

Only at Gunnison Beach in NJ... but it's usually not eye friendly lol

TallAnon · Answer

It being legal doesn't mean you won't get harrased or called out, so I bet it doesn't happen often.

LunarEclipse433 · Answer

From what I have seen over seas it is normal activity no big deal but not everyone naked is a model

Nice222 · Answer
