Why women will ask a guy what they should wear/get?

It doesn't even have to be a relationship thing. When I was a kid, my mother would ask me my opinion on what clothing/jewelry she should get while out shopping, I answered her but was thinking "Why are you asking me? I'm a guy." Now I don't mind it as much with my girlfriend, but still find it interesting.

Because sometimes we need a second opinion. Will we end up choosing what we wanted in the first place anyway? Probably. lol

Lol! I think my mother usually ended up getting whatever I said, so does my girlfriend, I guess I kinda feel valued opinion wise now. Haha

I think there are a few factors here. Your girlfriend wants to look good for you. Also appropriate in your eyes especially at a work function because she is representing you.

Also because you are there and you have some investment in her appearance.

My mother never sought my advice but I think it would have the same basis.

Why not. Take it as a compliment. Some people are not worth getting a second opinion from.
