Why do most men say they like natural beauty but they drool over women who don't have it?

I just don't understand it.Celebrity-wise, most men waffle on & on about how they'd like to find a woman as beautiful as *insert 'hot' celebrity,* but do they even realize how much effort goes into making them look drop-dead gorgeous?I mean, it's pretty obvious how much makeup is on their faces, the hair extensions, fake-tan,surgery & photoshop.I mean, they look abnormally perfect, yet men don't seem to understand that most of these 'gorgeous' celebrities are average without makeup, or maybe even below average.I see better looking women in everyday life & it doesn't take them six hours to look that way.

So tell me guys, how can you say you like natural beauty & then drool over the celebrities with fake body parts & loads of war paint, do you not even think about what they look like without?

I'm fed up of hearing how 'gorgeous' so & so is, because I know it's not true.The trouble is, guys don't.

WeaponZero-Yes, I know men aren't stupid, but why do they drool so much over celebrities that, frankly if you were to see them without makeup you'd run for the hills.It makes real women feel like crap because they can't measure up.It's like if men know celebrity beauty is artificial, then why do they glorify these celebrities for their 'beauty?'

That's great, you have a very realistic idea of how women should be seen, not as sex objects, as real human beings.I hate that some women can't even leave the house without makeup as they feel it's 'socially unacceptable.' It's terrible that the media has made women so insecure, they can't bear to be seen without makeup.I think the styles you are describing are much more appealing too, at least you can see what your actually attracted to, and not a mask.

This is what the media has done to the up and coming generation of say 15 plus, because everything they see that is potrayed as the way women should look, they don't see in every day living, same goes for the man look, six pack abs, biceps, etc etc, but if people look for this, they are in for a shock, because this look is not maintainable, they only look this good when the cameras are on them, so women of today who don't have cameras flocking round them are our true beaties, because they can maintain the good look factor, day in day out, and they put the makeup on themselves, not some pro worth thousands an hour, so I agree with what your saying, but the media are to blame in what men do think is perfect, but for me, it is girls like you and the ones in the library, because, to see someones eyes and feel you know them, is something far greater than looking in someones eyes and feeling out classed. So if guys keep thinking the perfect boob sits just beneath your chin and your lips should look like a small inflated balloon, then I am going to be surrounded by amazingly georgous, drop dead sexy , single women for a long time, because men do think, perfection is maintainable, because they see it on TV lol, open your eyes guys, there's more beauty out there if you turn the TV off,x

Guys are aware celebs look nothing like real girls. And we don't hold real girls to the same standard. The fact that you compared celebs to real girls shows you don't really understand guys and have a lot to learn about the way we think. We're smarter than that. Really.

Personally I don't. I prefer the look of "real girls." In fact the most beautiful woman I can honestly say I've ever seen is a close friend of mine.

Thanks. I also don't like the "dolled up" look. I like pony tails over styled hair, jeans and t-shirts over skirts/dresses and "stylish" tops. I like sneakers over heels. I'm a practically minded guy and I like a woman who doesn't put style before practicality ever.

Because claiming to prefer "natural" beauty is not only politically correct, it's an answer they give due to their misunderstanding of what being "natural" is.

For instance, when guys say they prefer natural beauty, what they really mean is they prefer the natural look. Natural LOOKING makeup that is.

Not all girls look good in a natural state either. Let's face it, facial structures which are asymmetrical aren't attractive and some boobs/butts just don't look good.

Guys don't care about makeup as much as girls would love to think. So girls who don't wear makeup don't have a "leg up" above those who do or above girls who tan, wear extensions or have surgery.

And what girls find attractive is different from what guys like. Girls like to think with a one track mind, guys don't.

Personality is NOT the first thing that is seen, so the whole idea of inner beauty being most relevant when first approaching a person is incorrect.

I don't even care what men say regarding this subject. the proof is in the pudding. the women who are the most attractive are almost always not natural. the women who are considered ugly or unremarkable are almost always the ones who are completely natural, who don't do anything to alter or improve their appearance

when guys say that, they are imagining their fantasy of the perfect dime who wakes up looking gorgeous. she has no under eye bags, always has perfect skin, was born with naturally arched eye brows, long thick hair and looks photoshopped because she was born perfect. lol because that's the only way they can expect women to look like that "naturally". not all guys think this way but usually its the immature and clueless ones. most guys know that women who look attractive have to work for it and they don't fault them for it.

yep, and there's no such thing as the perfect woman, regardless of what they think.It's pathetic, women don't expect men to have flawless skin, perfect hair, nails & body, yet they allow themselves to be duped by what they see in the media, despite the evidence being right there, the websites of celebrities without makeup, etc.

When guys say they like natural beauty they mean some combination of the following:

1) They'd rather the girl look that good without makeup/work. Its like saying they'd prefer a girl who is '9' without effort then a girl who is a '7' and with work looks like a '9'. Well, duh. (Are there really '7's and 9's' not exactly, but you get my point hopefully). For an actual woman deciding what to do, it does not mean 'don't wear makeup'. If you have the option of your fairy godmother making you look better permanently or wearing makeup to do the same thing, have your fairy godmother go ahead.

2) They like girls where they don't really notice the makeup/work. If people notice the makeup, then you don't look better. It should just enhance you. That tends to mean not too much, especially in the daytime, you can get away with more at night.

3) They don't like waiting around for an hour while a woman gets ready to go out, or where the girl complains about making out before going out because he'll mess her makeup up.

If a woman thinks she cannot go out of the house without wearing makeup, that's nuts. Its a tool you can use to add a little extra, and can use as frequently or infrequently as you like.

Swearing off makeup doesn't actually make life simpler. People _do_ care about appearance. If you don't wear makeup, you could easily spend even more energy on skin care regimens and moisturizers. There's something to be said for slapping on concealer and heading out.

99% of the time I would say this is correct. There are very very very few guys who actually LIKE the look of a girl without any sort of makeup/styling done. And the ones who do usually have some weird psychological association with it (admittedly, that's me =/)

I don't think it's true, I look quite good without any makeup on & my hair tied back in a high bun, my boyfriend says that is when I look my best.As long as a woman has her hair brushed or in a bun & is a naturally attractive woman, they would look fine without makeup.Admittedly there aren't many girls who are actually attractive without makeup, but they are out there. (By the way, their usually the ones that don't pile on the makeup in the first place)

I think plenty of girls are fairly attractive without makeup, but if you can't look better in an evening setting with, you're not putting it on right.

Because the whole idea of makeup and fake breasts is to appear natural, or at least as natural as they can.

The idea of makeup is not to look like a clown.
The idea of fake breasts is not to look fake.. that's why men get turned off when we see giant scars on fake boobs.

But constant polls prove that men like fake boobs just as much as real ones, (providing they look real, and a good boob job (and many of them are good) will look relatively real.
There are problems with real boobs, they sag and many of the time they aren't as big.
Fake boobs they are always firm and always look good. (providing its a good job.)

The idea with natural looking women is that really hot women don't require a ton of makeup and many men who say that are typically referring to her "cuteness" meaning she's cute rather than hot.
"hot" women are women like carmen electra and pamela anderson.
"cute" women are more like natalie portman.
both of which have huge fans and more men actually prefer Natalie than to either of them.

Plastic surgeons actually use what science and evolution and what society has deemed as beautiful.
They go by the golden mask, the golden ratio, and hips to waist ratios.
All of which are the proven mathematical definition of what beauty is.
Not what people find attractive, but what beauty is.
And someone whos "naturally beautiful" doesn't require surgery, or makeup to get to that golden ratio or hips to waist.
They were born that way, got lucky in the gene pool, or got that way through healthy living.

eh, all men are different. A sizeable contingent have appalling taste. That's not really something that should surprise you or shock you. People are often misguided or ignorant in a lot of regards. One tell tale sign that a man is a fool is if they think Cheryl Cole or Tulisa from X Factor are the epitome of beauty.

It's too bad more women don't go out in their normal lounging clothes to do errands. Yoga pants, a baggy shirt, no makeup, messy hair. If you find a guy that drools over you when you look like that... chances are he won't ever leave.

Why should this even bother you? Even I can see that these photoshoped women look amazing and I know that the effort they put in. But so what? Men are going to find women attractive, get over it and feel free to ogle photoshopped men like Ryan gosling.
