Do guys just like attention from girls for no reason?

I often wonder if there are just two types of men out there. Ones who once they are in a relationship they are completely contempt with their one girl and stop talking to any other girls either completely or not as much (if its a close friend), Then the guys that don't ever seem to know what they want that seem to seek attention from girls all the time, even if they are interested in someone. It always seems to be the guys that appear really secure, but I wonder if the constant attention seeking from the opposite gender means that they really aren't that secure. Is it possible for this type to have feelings for multiple people or are they really close off from everyone? Men confuse me so much...Why can't you be direct!

I have a lot of male and female friends. There are a couple of female friends that I would date if they weren't seeing other people. It doesn't mean that I'll be unhappy in a current relationship, just because I find some female friends attractive. Not to mention, girls are much harder to get along well with other girls, as they are more catty. These girls often seek out male friendship for relationship advice, just like you're doing right now, lol.

The bottom line is, both men and women like to know they can draw the attention of the opposite gender, even if it is nothing more than flattery and won't go any further. Although this is a generalization, I believe girls are more jealous of guys that have female friends, especially if the female friends are very good looking. I can't help it that some of the girls that like me are attractive!

In the end, popular people will probably have friends of both genders and if a girl asked me to ignore my friends, I'd probably think she was insecure. If there's no flirting going on, a man isn't just going to ditch his friends, unless he wasn't much of a friend to begin with.

Yes...there are the type of guy that seeks female attention "just for attention's sake".

These dudes are such chameleons, cauz they APPEAR confident cauz they're seeking attention, but once things start getting serious, they bail. :(

I am contempt with my girl and I stop talking to other girls in terms of finding a girlfriend.

I noticed some girls yesterday, looming around me, bumping into my chair, acting like they're checking their phone. following us back in the library and sitting across from us, just watching.

This all happened While I was with my girlfriend and it amused me, but I love my girlfriend and I don't want to bother her with me thinking or noticing other girls she is too sweet and I would never want her to feel threatened, or that I maybe detaching from her. I love my girlfriend.

Guys like attention from girls because it's an ego boost. I would be lying my ass off if I sat here and told you "Oh I never like attention from girls". Girls can be JUST as confusing. I have had my share of girls who NEVER knew what they wanted and still don't know what the hell they want to this day. I don't know many guys that cut themselves off from every other girl while they are with someone. It's impossible to never be attracted to anyone else in your lifetime just because you are with someone. Most of the time if your with a guy that truly likes you this "attention" from other girls is simply meaningless. Yeah it's a good boost for your ego but it generally means nothing.
