Does anyone know why girls scream over boy bands?

I never ever fell into this boy band bullsh*t. But a lot of girls do. I just want to know why girls care so much about 5 dudes that constantly lie in their music. It never made sense to me. They might be hot but they are not talented. So why do young girls like them?

I'm 23 years old and I still love boy groups/boy bands. I'm most interested in Korean boy groups. I obsess over them for many reasons. They are very good at cheering me up. They are these fun, funny, attractive, talented young men who make me feel very happy because they make me laugh and smile. I enjoy music and I prefer a lot more men involved when listening to music. I like men so seeing men makes me happy. Just being attractive doesn't do it for me. I usually end up obsessed with a group if they have a few elements as a whole. They make good music, they are fun, they can make me laugh, they are good people in general, they are also passionate for what they do, care about their fans, and are just great artists all together. The thing is when they're attractive it's nice of course. Because they dress and wear their hair in ways women like to see. Women like fashionable and attractive men who can make them laugh. If they can sing and dance too it's even better. Not only that but usually they're multi talented as well. I like that boys in boy groups dye their hair, wear unique fashionable clothing, are comfortable in their sexuality, and are fun people all around. For the most part, a lot of them look like real life anime characters and I like anime too. I've been loving boy groups since I was a child. I've always wondered myself why I love and obsess so much too. But it's obvious really. There's also plenty of guys out there obsessed with girl k-pop groups and other girl groups and artists. I've witnessed in person guys fanboying over girl groups. I understand because I love boy groups. I love boys and I love music, when they can dance, sing, be sensual, and be sexy, funny, make you smile and laugh it's hard not to squel or scream sometimes. It's exciting because men never take advantage of doing things women like to see. Boy groups usually do exactly the kind of things I wanna see.

I don't know but I don't scream over them but most girls do. I think its because some hotels see other girls liking them and I think it makes them want them more. I think some but not all want what they can't have in a certain sense because if you think about it some girls do the opposite when a famous boy band member dates a girl. Remember how Justin Bieber fans sent selena gomez death threats? I think some people in general like certain bands because the idea of something they may label unattainable drives them crazy. And if you think about it. Seeing that these famous boy bands are always busy and have millions of fans they are labeled "unattainable" to some girls

I really have no clue... It's so odd because they don't even know those boys, just the public face that is being put out.  I guess some girls are really desperate for a perfect guy so they take someone that seems to be ideal and build up on that until they have built the boy up to some kind of god. They only see the good side of the boy so they began to believe that he is perfect and just the thing for them. Pretty silly but I guess it's something that some girls go through. I've never had a boy band crush or any celebrity crush because I know nothing about that person and looks aren't the whole package so they never caught my attention.

I wonder the same... I've worked backstage for a good amount of concerts before, and there were a couple of boy bands. And I would hear all these girls screaming like these guys were Hendrix onstage back from the dead, I almost dropped a few thing it was so loud and earsplitting lol... But anyway being back stage and listening and catering to them, they were some huge a**holes that are full of themselves. But yeah I don't get why girls scream like their in complete love with these a**holes they don't even know, other than the songs they sing that were probably written by someone else. And just so you girls know half of them you wouldn't find to be so cute without their man makeup. Oh and their a bunch of babies. Sorry for the rant, just some bad experience with some pop stars I wish I could have popped for being such douche bags, I only didn't cause of the security and I liked my working backstage other than a few occasions.

I always thought it was stupid when I was a teen. The icing on the cake is that calling these singing (lip syncing) and dancing acts "bands" as if they play instruments or something.

It's even more absurd that in their 30s, women STILL pay to see these singing and dancing idiots, including those who have grown up enough to appreciate much better music.

But I fail to answer your question because it makes no sense to purchase music and attend concerts of these guys even if they are attractive. I can't think of any time guys make such a big deal out of a singer because she's hot. Even if a female singer is hot, guys aren't going to drive around listening to her music if it is mindless entrails like "boy bands." And guys sure as hell don't flock to concerts of female performers just to swoon over them.

Jokes a side I think that its fascinating how girls go crazy of boy bands. I mean rooms covered with posters and random locks of hair. Like seeing these girls start crying and having fits and seizures just cause she thinks one of them was winking at her or even those that don't bathe because they happened to hug a group member. It really is incredible. These guys may not be talented, but there music is one of the last things these girls care about. They are a well packaged entity that make millions.

cause their cute. and sometimes when you think something is cute you can get so filled with good feelings about it, it makes you scream in excitement. I still scream/freak out at concerts and I'm 21 so I think its normal. I nearly lost my voice at mac miller I was screaming and waving my sign so hard lol

it's just fun music to dance to with attractive boys singing it get over it. It's just dance music it isn't supposed to be deep. The only one I've ever liked is one direction, it's just fun. I don't get why they scream though it's probably just excitement. I know if I met one direction I wouldn't scream at them I'd want them to think I am normal not a squeeling lunatic hahaha

I've never understood it.

The most I have even done was a whistle and a cheer. And that was because I knew the band.

It's normally young girls who do it so maybe it's a hormone rush thing? All those people, excitement, let it out by screaming?

I was last night actually :) it's just fun! I did because I knew the guys in the band and wanted to support them on stage and they were amazing musicians. But other fan girls scream cause they like to I suppose.
