Why would a guy lie about his name?

So I just found out this guy I was Interested in lied about his name.. He's into me as well.. but, just his name? Why do you think this is? what's he trying to hide? And why?

There's a number of reasons why a guy might not tell you the truth:

1. He's married/in a relationship.

2. He's famous and doesn't want you to know about his high status.

3. He's wealthy and afraid that if he ever impregnated you that you would come after him for child support.

4. He could be a habitual liar.

5. He could have a criminal record.

6. Something else?

It could be any number of reasons as to why a man might not want to give you his true identity. Are you going to confront him about it?

I don't know if I am or not. But like everything else "seems" to be true about him except for his name, I want to confront him but I don't want he to think I was stalking him, I was just doing some investigation.. lol.

Im not like a stalker or anything just a normal girl, I just think I deserve the truth, ya know?

Well, I'd caution against getting to know him too well and might even suggest you pull out. If he's not honest about his name (providing he has no very valid reason to NOT be honest), there's a lot of other things he could be dishonest about. I think you should confront him at some point. Otherwise, you could start a relationship with him and then find out later that the name is the least of your worries if he is a habitual liar or worse yet, has some really big skeletons in his closet.

Yeah your right, but if I confront him I'm scared of what his reaction might be..

Well, but if you don't confront him, then he could be lying about a lot of other things which never get addressed. You're playing an exceptionally risky game here. You could just tell him you tried to find him on Facebook or the like and noticed the difference. You don't have to accuse him, but he should be able to offer a reason why he didn't give you his true name.

You really only have two options:

1. Confront him and see if his answer makes A LOT of sense.

2. Run away while you still can and before you get emotionally attached.

He is a liar, thief, and cheat.

A liar will always steal and a thief will murder.

If you go forward, you are a fool. Something that simple if done to the police will send to jail for 24 hours plus may attach some crimes to him.

The police with take a lie serious but a girl will let it go until horrific damage is done.

When is there ever a good reason to lie to a woman he is trying to get into his bed about something so simple as his name.

I totally agree with you its never okay to lie to someone about something so small, but yet very important. I just wanna know why he did it? Like what's he trying to hide?Or whatever..?

Very weird. If it's only that he lied about, could be trying to keep you from searching Google for him. Many people do that nowadays.
