Athletic guys and chubby girls? How does that work?

So, I am chubby. Healthy but yeah a size 12/14 (173cm). It's just the way it is ;) However I realized that most men who had/have an interest in me are total gym rats with quite some muscles. Most of them really toned. Definitely spending a lot of time in the gym. ha ha how does that combo even work?

Any fit guys here, who can maybe shed a bit of light on this?

Are you also attracted to chubbies?

I am pretty fit for my age but not into chubby girls myself however I can give some input on it.

A lot of guys who have met with attractive girls have noticed how extremely stuck up they can be. This is obviously a major turn off for men. When this happens enough times the guy can fed up with it.

The other thing is that since you're in the gym, it's a sign that you are actually putting effort to get into shape. So you may not be in shape now, but overtime you will be and that is something a guy can like. So a guy may not hit on you on the street necessarily, but see you in the gym and decide to. You two already have something in common since you're both into fitness right there.

The other thing is that the muscle guy can still be attracted to the body type he originally used to be. So if he used to be fat, he could still be attracted to overweight people because he used to be overweight himself and can relate to it. Personally, I was super skinny and now a more lean build(168 last I checked) and could still be attracted to a skinny girl(even though it's more common for people with the way the media has brainwashed us).

If there is genuine love it is not necessary that you have to be as fit as your bf

but yes some fitness should be there for overall health

The truth is that most of the time, gym rats are very insecure and/or compensating for one area of themselves with muscles.It is rare to find a guy who's a gym rat and does not have a painfully low self-esteem somewhere deep down with the exception of guys who play sports. They usually just have muslce because muscle is an advantage to playing their sport but there's not a lot of deep rooted insecurity there. Gym rats may feel threatened by dating a girl who is equally as toned or "physically hot" as they are. Also, they may feel like a chubby girl will feel so special and lucky to be her size and have a guy who's so muscular and toned that she'll put him on a pedestal and make him feel special. Another thing is that, sometimes, no offense because this sounds really harsh, but there's a stigma that chubbier girls try harder during sex because they have to make up for their lack of physique. So I've heard of guys wanting to mess around with bigger girls because of that.

i've seen this before. I will say when they are with chubby girls, they tend to be cute chubby girls who look more feminine, not the sloppy frumpy fat girls. I think the gym rat type guys are more masculine on average thus they go for more feminine girls. that being said, I also see these guys with girls with really fit bodies too.

from what I've been told by some of them,they like to be masculine,so they work out,and they like women to be feminine,and women naturally have a higher percentage of body fat. of course,that's not true for all of them.

just because they exercise doesn't mean that they can't like you and that they will only like skinny and athletic girls but there could also be some chubby chasers out there
