Why do some guys pull away and come back after a while?

This question has been posted a thousand times, but I still can't get why guys pull away and then come back? (not everyone). My experience has shown me that every single guy that pulled away, eventually contacted me again.

Please guys, do explain this to me? (Only guys who do this. The ones who do not behave this way, shouldn't answert but).

1. If the girl turned him off in some way, he may pull away. But then, he'll realise that maybe she's better than most other girls, so he goes back to her.
2. He's testing your interest in him.
3. He didn't want to commit as he thought he had better options, so wants to keep you on the side, and get you to think of him every now and then.
4. He sees you as just a friend. Possibly hoping for benefits.

Number 2 is definitely an interesting one for sure. I've never once walked away from a girl to test their interest in me.

I think only insecure dudes would do that... in order to protect oneself from getting hurt. It is very irrational, though

Not necessarily insecure, but smart ones too. Sometimes, it's hard for a guy to tell if the girl is just stringing him along for attention but has someone else in mind (but doesn't tell him about it). A smart guy may pull off 2. to confirm that!

And what kind of signs is he then looking for?

Because inexperienced guys don't know how attraction works.
If a guy pulls away, he's basically acting like a woman with feminine energy with the thought of not knowing how to proceed.
Dating is just as simple as masculine energy whom a guy initiates, making dates and eventually letting opportunity for sex to happen. Hang out have fun and hook up.

That's what I thought too. The guys I used to date seemed to have very little experience how girls think and how relationships work...They expect the girl to do all the work

I think it's up to men to initiate things, and overall letting women come to you, as they feel the 'need' to bonding and connecting with you emotionally, and men set the dates afterwards, happy process, no dramas, no stress.

usually they're probably trying to test you to see if you will come to them maybe. for guys that is like a good sign that you show some interest being you bothered to try and make contact or something when the guy is supposed to be doing all the work.

And what if the girl stays cool and doesn't contact him again, because she is pissed or doesn't like this behaviour?

Will those guys back off, because they think she is just not into them (because she didn't reach out to him after he pulled away)

for me personally, I would take that as "ok she's onto my scheme" and I would jump back on the horse immediately, OR I could be all wuss about it and think oh she doesn't like me or have any interest in me enough to at least see how I'm doing. at that point it depends on what kind of guy you're dating. Confidence or Wuss. lol

its definitely possible they could back off. they either back off because they think you lost interest and it depresses them or they have more game to hit on elsewhere and you were just another number.

well to be honest I only played it once a long time ago and I did it for 5 days and she texted me back saying "hey whats up haven't heard from you in a while". other than that one time I wouldn't ever play this game lol. but to answer your question...I wouldn't play it for very long because girls usually don't get the idea that the guy is testing them, they get the idea that he lost interest. and then they get confused as hell.

In my experience I'm trying to see if she likes me or not. Sometimes its just really hard to tell and you dont want to come off as a creep.
