Help! Why does my boyfriend keep his phone on silent?

Ever since I've been with my boyfriend he's always kept his phone on vibrate or on loud sometimes. And when it would vibrate it would still be loud so you could easily hear it.

But I guess for the past several days he has been having his phone on silent. Because I don't hear it vibrate and he still
gets text messages.

But I can't understand why. He still texts me all day long and when were together he will
text in front of me and doesn't try to hide his phone?

I don't know if I should ask him about it because saying "why do you have your phone on silent?" seems like something a crazy girlfriend would ask.

Well when i had my phone on silent, i just didn't like all of the ring tones and they just annoyed me so i kept my phone on vibrate so that i and others didn't have to hear it. even today my texts still vibrate and my phone calls have a ring tone. i dont think its that he is trying to hide anything from you when he texts, it might just be his preference to keep the sound down.

It doesn't sound like there's any suspicious behavior accompanying this, so I wouldn't worry about it. If he starts behaving oddly in other ways, then yeah, maybe there's an issue. But otherwise, it just sounds like the dude doesn't like having his phone blow up in his pocket all the time.

I also used to keep it on vibrate, but now its on silent most of the time.
The buzzing sound kinda started to annoy me, so thats why i put it on silent.
Maybe he also got annoyed by the buzzing, thats why he put it on silent too.
i wouldn't worry too much about it if i were you :)

Seriously relax... I used to always have my phone on high or vibrate, then all the sudden I started putting it on silent, then vibrate again. It is not a big deal and if he isn't hiding the phone don't even worry about it. I mean you can ask him but he is probably going to be like wtf.

The people that say you are crazy for thinking or asking this are wrong. You are not crazy for noticing a change and here's why. My boyfriend and I broke up, he cheated and started dating the girl. We started talking again and have been working on rebuilding our relationship. The entire time we were together prior to break up his phone Notifications were always on. Even the first few months of working things out and dating again they were on. Then we got into a dumb argument about the cheating and we didn't speak for about a month. I tried communicating, he did not. Anyway when we finally did start hanging out and seeing eachother again (I'm very forgiving and do not hold grudges) I noticed his phone was always on silent but would see him texting sometimes. I didn't ask about it for awhile until I found out through an Instagram photo a mutual friend posted that he was back together with the girl he cheated on me with. That entire month he barely spoke to me he had been seeing her. The reason he told me his phone was on silent was so she would not find out about me and I wouldn't find out about her. So if you are wondering why the change , t doesn't hurt to ask. Just know you may not know the real reason, or you may not like the truth. Go with your instincts and gut. They are usually right and just ask in a nice way without acting or sounding crazy. It's normal to question things at times. Doesn't mean you're crazy.

Well my phone is always on silent, because I've got things to hide. Not necessarily cheating, just talking to people you know your partner won't like you talking to sometimes.
Somebody who's always texting, doesn't mind their phone making noise, they enjoy being on their phone, they aren't putting it on silent so they can have some peace and quiet otherwise they'd put the phone down and not be texting.

That IS a crazy thing to be annoyed about. My phone is always on silent, sometimes vibrate but always silent. I like to answer my phone in my own sweet time, not when it shouts at me.

I class silent as has no tone. My phone does not emit a noise.

I don't think you can lower the volume of vibrations. Maybe he just doesn't want to be interrupted. Quit looking for trouble.

He might just hate the disruptive sound of a ringing phone. I keep mine on silent most of the time for the same reason, unless I'm expecting an important call.

I had to keep my ringtone off at work, and I just got tired of switching it and got used to it being on vibrate, so I left it that way.

Well in my previous relationships, when I was with my lady I kept mine on silent because I wanted most of my time and energy focused on her. Maybe that's why? Just a guess to stay positive here.
