Guys, can you tell the difference between a shy girl & an uninterested one?

If you are nor strangers with a girl can you tell the difference between cold & shy?

There's a guy I like but he always has to talk to me first & initiate goodbye hugs. If he passes by me I smile but he always ends up starting convo first. He just makes me nervous & although I give him no feedback I feel he'll easily think I'm overly infatuated if I speak too much to him. I asked if likes me & he said as a friend. But he flirts soooo much. I wonder if he's skeptical to admit feelings because he doesn't see me as interested. Can you tell when we are just dreadfully shy?

If he's really flirting, you should flirt back. He will ask you out if he's interested. Sometimes shyness can be confused for not interested, so smile and laugh at his jokes. Make sure he knows you like him. That's the best advice I can think of for pretty girls who don't understand why nobody asks them out.

It's easy to think a person likes us especially when you like someone a lot. In his case he said he liked you as a friend. I would not really interpret it beyond that.

I can't tell i can't pick up on hints either. Maybe one of those shirts would help with boxes that have do you like me yes no or a friend might be able to tell him that you like him you like him or something
