What does it mean when a guy won't give you his jacket/sweatshirt?

Everytime i ask my crush that i want his jacket , he tells me an excuse (i'm cold, etc.) . Yet, whenever any other girl says she wants to wear it he gives it to her and doesn't even think about it twice. And when i take it from him (rarely) he takes it back immediately after one hour or so. I also asked his bestfriend randomly what can it mean he said that guy is not a gentleman. Even my bestfriend tells me that she loves wearing my jackets because i always smell really good. She even thinks he might have a slight intrest in me , as she catches him staring at me several times , so why does he give his jacket or sweatshirt to any girl , but when i ask for it he keeps making excuses?

He's your crush, not your boyfriend. Why would he want to give you his jacket if making you think that he likes you is the last thing he wants to do?

Staring means jack shit. If he liked you, he wouldn't look for every excuse on the planet NOT to be nice to you.
