How to deal with hooking up with a coworker?

Hi!
Found myself in an odd predicament.. I have a good friend of mine (who is a coworker). I've known him a few years, he's always had a girlfriend. She's never treated him great, they break up and get back together all the time. The only reason they are still together is because she is dealing with some tough life events and he feels bad leaving her. Anyways, we had a work event this weekend and drank a little bit, and he ended up kissing me and we made out for a little bit. He told me he had always had a crush on me. We haven't really spoken since. I might be interested in pursuing things... i just don't know what he wants from me and I'm not really sure how to act or what to say the next time we see each other. I don't want it to be awkward, I'm not sure how to clear the air. Any ideas?

I suggest you talk to him like you normally would if the make out session hadn't happened, and if he comes to talk to you about trying things out then go for it. Im telling you to wait for him to mention wanting something is because you say that he's staying with the girl because he feels bad for her so, when he is sober he still might and if you pursue him, with him not returning feelings, you will end up hurt whilst for him it wouldn't be that of a big deal. Just act like nothing happened and talk to him to clear that awkwardness, not so that you can keep him as a friend if anything doesn't happen, also so that you wouldn't get too attached before anything even starts happening.

No, no, he doesn't feel bad for her... he wants the best of both worlds. And that's what he wants for his own gain. And let's be honest, that's not right. It makes you look like the 'other women' (probably from her perspective), and sloppy seconds. And that's not a real man. Just 'cause they have issues with their relationship does not mean he needs to step right into another one. The next time you see him, you say hello and don't further this any much longer. Who's to say he won't do that to you with another girl if you guys get in a relationship? Just saying. Best of luck!
