What does it mean if a guy offers you his coat?

so this guy offered me his coat when I was really cold. does this mean he likes me or that he is just a nice guy? or both?

since I'm pretty shy I said no thanks, but if he does in fact like me would he have been disappointed since I said no?

He's a nice guy and probably does like you. I'm sure your over thinking it though, it's not like he's gonna be crushed cause you said no. You didn't give enough info though like what setting this was it when it was going down.

Did that once to girl I really liked. Even though it was - 5 degrees outside and I was in a shirt. When you like someone, you try to take "care" of them as much as you can, and try to impress them and get their attention.

It could mean both. And if he did like you, he probably would had been disappointed when you said no. Next time if you're cold you should find him and ask him if the offer is still up to wear his coat
