Super Shy or Not Interested?

I went to a dance last week with this guy. He's super shy (everyone says so) so at first it was kinda awkward, & I noticed he was scared to talk to me, but my one friend said he would stare at me, especially when we were standing at a distance. As the night went on he got more comfortable, & we talked basically the whole night. A bunch of people kept saying we should hook up. His one friend I was talking to was especially persistent, & was asking me if I would get with him (as opposed to just saying that we should). The whole time people were saying it, he never said anything like "stop" or "no, I don't want to". We were sitting kinda close, & whenever I would touch him (i. e. put my arm around him) he would do the same, but only if I initiated it. At another point his friend was talking about how he had better abs than him, & so my friend and I asked them to show us them; he stood up almost immediately & showed us them, but his friend didn't. When he was about to leave my friend went up to him & said, "you should totally get with her (me)", & he said he wanted to but was leaving. When he left his other friend came up to me & kept telling me that I should have hooked up with him, & that I at least should at some point in the future.
Then last Sat we were together again, & it was totally different. Firstly, my friend did ask me if I would get with him last night a couple of days ago (I'm assuming because someone asked her to do so), but I said I wanted to get to know him better. But he didn't talk to me at all. I did catch him staring every once in awhile, but he never initiated conversation & made no effort to talk to me. People were saying like "omg I know you two are gonna end up hooking up" & apparently he again never said like "no" or "stop it". I also noticed he isn't snapchatting me as much as he was a week ago.
So now I'm so confused. I was pretty sure he liked me, but now I really don't know. Is this purely him being a shy guy, or is he no longer interested?

Sounds like the super shy and emphasis on the super is really what he is. So the best solution to this would be to get him alone and just start having a serious conversations. You ask him, if he wants to go out with you, or whatever you really want out of this. But the key thing is to get him talking alone, from what you have said about him, he seems like he might not want to really approach any girl when groups of people are involved and didn't make any moves because he probably didn't want to fuck anything up, I mean if he touched you and you freaked out, he'd probably wouldn't meet up with you ever again because he just couldn't be in the same room with you. So if you want to pursue this, you will have to initiate, and then you'll see if he opens up to you or he really is a man of few words. Hope this helps.

Maybe he was interested but you intiiating every time made him a bit intimidated.
Or he isn't someone for hookups and with all these hookup talk, he expected that you wanted it and maybe that left him with a bad taste in his mouth.

But only he can give you the real scoop because we are trying to help, but eventually all we are doing is bouncing ideas.

Im so confused but i think he thinks you dont like him because you never said if you were snapchating him or not and were you talking to him to😯😯

I know it's tough and all, but asking him directly what you're asking us can clear things up. And try not to let others dictate what you should do. The relationship is between you two, not one big crowd
