If he says I'm like a sister to him, could he actually like me?

Unofrtunately this guy I've had a crush on since the first time I saw him (cliche, but true) is my current boyfriend's close-ish friend. The guy I'm crushing on has been having issues with his group including my boyfriend. He confides in me often about his problems. Last year he told me a lot about a girl that goes to our school about how he really really liked her but she just downright hates him. My crush is sometimes misunderstood. He's a really good big brother, sensitive, hot, athletic (quarterback[: as a sophomore) caring, sweet, smart, and just an overall great guy. He was telling me about his problem with the guys and how he's been thinking of transferring. I gave him the motivational stuff like don't care what they think, be the bigger person, stand up for yourself, you're a great guy, etc. When we were done talking he said thanks for talking, you're like a sister to me. I just can't see such a great guy like him actually liking me back. But is it possible?
