I think if i was talking to a girl i would treat her with respect and don't worry that she talks with other guys , if something good comes out of it for us both than that would be great if not than i would hope she meets a guy who treats her great. The worst thing is for a guy to become possessive with a girl that is horrible and you don't deserve that type of treatment.

When you socialize he is jealous which you stated but here is the clincher; he ignores you because he is jealous. Ignoring is an act of jealousy when one has no other vent. So when you are nice to him he doesn’t know how to process it and does the only thing he knows which is ignore. You are right he does have problems and when someone acts that jealous, any relationship with a person like that would be eventual controlling misery. Run!
