Boyfriend lied about texting female friend?

So my boyfriend and I have been together for nearly 2 years. They seemed to be keeping in touch on and off for the time we’ve been together. Recently they stopped texting for 3 months. I’m not sure why they stopped, they seemed to stop texting when I found out he was texting her. I got really mad with him and was on the verge of breaking up with him at that time. Then Christmas Eve they got back in touch. He lied to me that they got in touch again and when I asked him why did he lie, he said he was protecting me in case I overreacted and left him. I said why would he care if I left him when he clearly has got someone else. He said cause he loves me. He claims he only loves me, wants to be with me, I’m his future etc. Him and this girl were not totally platonic friends cause they have hooked up in the past but never actually had sex.

Am I being played for a fool?

sometimes hard to break those old strings. I'd just pt some rules in place. Since this is not secure for you (isn't for most females), have her blocked, have him send a note he is with you and no longer will communicate. And that's that. Then you have rights to monitor his communications.

about as good as it gets. he may slip up here and there and have this feeling or that for a while. oh well..

It could might be that they are just friends fr and he never shows the texts because he's afraid you'd overreact, and he's insecure. Or It could be the total opposite. What were the texts like if you've seen them?

I see 3 reasons to... One reasons why he doesn't tell you why he's texting her is because he thinks/is afraid that you'll over react.. Other reason is he's into her but she's not into him or he's just a fboy and you should get rid of him while you can. Best way is to talk about it and express your emotions about it. If he didn't sympathize with that your path is clear

It’s not that I’m afraid of this, the first time I saw they were texting I did get angry with him and nearly ended our relationship. Because I was angry and thought he was cheating behind my back.

Advise that I would give you is write everything down how it makes you feel what you think etc then sit down with him and have a real conversation about how this effects you and the relationship. Be real to each other
