I confessed to my crush over text but he doesn't reply?

Long story short, I confessed my feelings for this guy over text and I haven't gotten a reply from him. I know over text isn't the best way, but I tried telling him face to face, I even knew what and how I was gonna say it, but when I gotten to the point I just didn't know how.
So I told him that I like him, and want to know if there could be more than our friendship and asked if he wanted to go on a date with him. Not sure what to do now, I considered sending him another message that basically says no matter what he answers I value him as a friend and hope this won't change to much, I can respect his decision if he says no.

If I'm honest I kind of expect his reaction to be no, but there's been so much going on between us, looking at his messages/answers sometimes I couldn't help to wonder if he was just joking around or that there was more behind it (the other day he commented on my butt, saying the view had improved, I mean, seriously?)

Should I give him a bit more time to think? I send the first message on Friday and want to send the other one after the weekend or should I wait longer to see if he replies.

The ball is in his court now. Generally, it is expected for the man to confess his feelings for the woman. You took the brave stance and made the first move, good for you. You put yourself out there and even took the time to disclose that you’re respectful of his decision, regardless if the feelings aren’t mutual. The fact that he hasn’t responded tells me that he is most likely nervous to break the news that he doesn’t feel the same way. Let him come to you now.

I've waited a while for him to let me know something, besides the (sometimes suggestive) messages. Seeing as there was nothing over the last few months from his side I decided to do it myself. At least I know where I stand with him then

Yep. Personally, the fact that he can’t confront you about how he feels, considering you two seemed to have a friendship going, tells me that you’re better off staying to yourself at this point.

First of all, don’t send anymore message. I know this will kill you, but resist the urge. Keep busy. The only thing you can do now is wait. He saw your message and is probably wondering how to respond. If you happen to see him face to face at school, then go up to him and ask him if he got your messages.

Tricky. He might be pondering over this, give him time. He either likes you back and is shocked by your text or he doesn’t see you in that way and he doesn’t know how to respond. I hope you get a text back, you deserve that much

I agree. In my experienced there's this girl who I like for years I even thought that she was out of my league (she didn't know) but on December she was asking me through a message I was really shocked n I dont know how to approach her... So if his giving signals then that means he likes you, jus give him more time
